This happened once to me post 1.1 update, inside with a trader during an emission. PC locked, but sound continued. After perhaps an hour & a half of game-play.
Required PC reboot. Reason unknown, and hasn't happened since.

I suspect overheating might have been an issue, so I suggest running your favourite CPU/GPU monitor for a while and see if temps are spiking, especially during bad weather situations or emissions, which seem to be a major drain on resources while in a populated area.

this thing happened me after 1.1 patch, i have 77 hours play time and there was no crash before.that new major patch triggered it. also i always watching my cpu and gpu temperature and my cpu is no more than 60 degree and gpu is about 65-66. it looks like not about heat.

Why would you be in a scenario where temps would ever be a concern?
Because overheating sometimes occurs in computer technology, and what harm can come from monitoring it?

Regardless, I'm Keeping an eye on temps & waiting for the next emission to see if that causes any problems. I'm not playing this thing for extended periods it is just a game after all.

I have the same issue on my end, it is not related to temps but rather RAM usage (not VRAM) spikes up in few seconds and goes to system total (mine went from 26GB usage to 64GB in about 2 seconds). Game becomes unresponsive and I must kill off the game through Task Manager or reset the PC.

Issues happens when I am at the vendor or looking at my inventory.

I'm not sure whether that happened here or not, I wasn't monitoring, but I wouldn't rule it out. However I think the OP and myself (well I at least) had a completely locked up PC. I couldn't get at the Task Manager. My game PC is 32GB. so who knows.

From day one, I had a temporary & massive frame-rate drop in town, in the traders, especially while weather was bad, but the emission seemed to be the trigger in my case. Poss. coincidence maybe. Still new day, new patch, new adventures.
