2- Then go to folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Stalker2, and COPY and paste all the game files/folders to a different location (doesnt matter which).
3- Then go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved and DELETE all the files/folders in the Saved folder.
4- Start a new game, choose a different save slot rather than the one you want to recover, play a bit and then save the game.
5- After that, go to the folder where your new saved game file is located C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Steam\SaveGames\Data and you will see it.
6- Copy the new file’s file name and DELETE this new file, and then rename an old save file that you moved somewhere else in step 2 with the copied name, and put it the same SaveGames folder where your new save game was (in step 5).
7- Load the game and check if the missing progress is restored. If it does not work, the old save file you used may have been corrupted.
In this case, you may need to duplicate the steps above for another old save file until you succeed.
All the files I've tried this with so far are corrupted.
Man, this frustrates me so hard...
You may try one last shot, after copying the name of the new save game (step 6) and renaming an old save game you moved to a different folder, try to completely delete the folder SaveGames (C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Steam\SaveGames), and then copy the full SaveGames folder that contains your old save game file that you renamed and paste it at this same “C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\Steam\SaveGames”, then try to run the game, load the game and check if it recognizes.
Yeah, I did this.
Funnily it worked now. But:
All save games were portrayed as "corrupted". While in earlier tests I could not even select them, one of them worked now and loaded an older game.
Thanks for your help guys. Highly appreciated!
Haha cool ♥♥♥♥.
