Report a translation problem
We have identified an issue on some Intel 13th/14th generation CPU’s where upon startup the game will display a message about being out of video memory or the crash reporter will pop up referencing an issue with decompressing a shader. If you experience this problem, you will likely also see it in other DX12 games.
If your CPU is overclocked, try setting it back to the defaults. If you’re not overclocked or that doesn’t work, try installing Intel Extreme Tuning Utility:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/17881/intel-extreme-tuning-utility-intel-xtu.html and lowering your “Performance Core Ratio” from 55x to 54x."
SteamLibrary/steamapps/shadercache
and deleted all the folders in there. It took a while to recompile all the shaders again but it worked and I finally got to the main menu.
Thank you for this, this worked for me in resolving the issue.
When starting up, it seems like you start up for the first time, but your save games are still there. So no worries.
1. Delete Direct X cache. In Windows, go to "Storage Settings". Go to "Temporary Files. In here, untick everything, except "Direct X Shader Cache";
2. In the folder "SteamLibrary" (main folder, in whatever drive you allocated for the game files) got to subfolder "steamapps\shadercache" and delete/move/rename all the folders (I moved them to a backup folder).
3. In your user folder (c:\users\yourname) go to subfolder "AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved".
Rename/move/delete the folder "GameSettings"
In subfolder "Config", rename/move/delete the folder "Windows".
These folders will be re-created when the game starts.
