again another +100gb update

they cant be serious. so every other week we have to DL +100 gigabiyte as an update?
is the game really that flawed?
and again we cant play till its completly downloaded? are they serious?
this is really starting to annoy me!
it might be shocking .. but some people still have jobs and cant wait 3.5 hours for an update to finish.
this is really bad .. 100gb updates every other week are really ridiculous
when the update is finished we had to download almost a half terrabyte of data for 1 single game in a month! great work

yes i know i know .. im totally a cry baby .. but cmon guys!
bcuz of the last 110gb update on thursday i couldjnt play the game at all that day since i again .. do have a job and not a lot of time.
so that day i let the update run .. thinking i might be able to at least play right away when i come back saturday .. and then ..
today ..
first another 7gb update and OF COURSE .. the complete game has to be moved!
after that i will OF COURSE need another shishy shader compiling thingy and another day where im missing 1.5h of gametime because GSC need to update ever single kb of their 140gb game 5 times a week.
how could you NOT love that.
and its more than silly of me ot even mention anything!
shouldnt i rather be thankful that they allow me to play their game AT ALL!
and the worst part is .. that i really love the game .. so they basicly have me by my ding dings!

Do the game really update single files or simply replaces them with new ones? Download sizes are humongous, but install times after downloading seem rather short. So maybe it is just copying files over from the Steam download folder to the games folder instead of opening existing files and modifying them.

I have several games in my library that have fast downloads, but also take several hours (especially if parked on a HDD) installing even for small patches.

looks like that they modify all of the textures and graphics as well as the code.
since that is the only reason for those big A updates. this cant be just some bug fixes in the code.

its just strange that they dont seem able to just update what needs to be fixed.
feels like the code overall isnt very solid or i dont know why you have to constantly update basicly the whole game over and over!

with my internet speed it takes 24+ hours to download, i just finished the last patch today and now i get to download for another 24+ Hours the next one....

I'm in the same boat, 16 hour update and if it gets paused or interrupted AT ALL it resets to the beginning completely. It's great that they're fixing stuff but if this becomes the norm I reckon it'll be getting uninstalled until the patches aren't so frequent because I'm actually throttling the internet for the whole family for days at a time.

You're not downloading 100 gb. You're downloading like 10, and then the game is repacking. The number you're seeing is how much data needs to be rewritten on your drive. After you download the initial patch, the rest of the work is done on your drive, which has nothing to do with your internet connection.
