how to clear shader cache for dummy's

for windows 10:
Go to your Start menu, search for "Disk Cleanup", and open the tool.
Select Drive: Choose the drive where your Windows is installed (usually C:).
Check DirectX Shader Cache: In the list of files to clean, make sure only "DirectX Shader Cache" is checked.
Click OK: Confirm the deletion by clicking "OK".

for NVIDIA:
To clear the Nvidia shader cache, open the Nvidia Control Panel, navigate to "Manage 3D Settings", turn off the "Shader Cache" option, apply changes, then manually delete the cache files located in your user profile's AppData folder by going to "AppData\Local\Temp\NVIDIA" and deleting the contents of the "DXCache" and "GLCache" folders.

AMD folder:
AppData\Local\AMD

make sure you clear all the temp files for both AMD and Nvidia and temp files in Windows.
might have to do a system restart before it lets you Delete them.

also the file in
AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved
the (upipelinecache) file if there is one

after the 1.1.2 patch you might have to clear shader cache a few times as there some odd bug with compiling shaders for me it took 3 times

as of 1.1.3 there's a popup box that will says shader compilation failed and it will skip it

other problems that could cause crashing or slow shader compile could be
XMP is turned on in the bios for the RAM, that can cause crashing for some games.
bad overclock.
bad hardware.
broken OS.
broken drivers or bad driver install.

Type cmd in the Search box.
Run Command Prompt as administrator.
In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter. It may take several minutes for the command operation to be completed.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

after that's done run

sfc /scannow

Is this something everyone needs to do? I'm not having issues with crashing or anything.
This should not be done unless it is totally worth it.
Games should be designed to work.
Just deleting stuff in the hope it will run is no proper solution at all.

GSC screwed up badly and now it is their turn to fix the crap they send us.

whelp that's just how DX12 and vulkan is its not just GSC dumb dumb

Nah these days DEVs should be clairvoyant, and be able to tailor their game to 1000s of different rigs and if there's a problem come to your house and fix it apparently :meepsad:

Nah these days DEVs should be clairvoyant, and be able to tailor their game to 1000s of different rigs and if there's a problem come to your house and fix it apparently :meepsad:

Just recently I've finished Final Fantasy 7 remake, and Dragons Dogma 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn. Not a single crash, bug or shader problem in either game. So, yes, devs are able to tailor their game to 1000s of different rigs and can and should be clairvoyant.
It's crazy how many people will take the time to complain on here but won't look for a solution lol. Yeah, future updates should delete all shaders by default.
You obviously haven't been PC Gaming very long if you've never had to do this before. It's a NORMAL thing to have to do from time to time. The reason with STALKER2 is after GPU Driver Updates or a game patch, you want to wipe that old shader cache. And if your PC has an issue doing it again, it's CPU related, not GPU related.
