I'm going to but only because I already finished the game, unless you had some serious problems I would at least try your old save for an hour and see how performance is.

This is hefty one. I didn´t even complete the first zone, so I will probably start a fresh run (for good measure).

Thanks I had no issues as I was only 40 hours in and taking it easy, thanks for reply

Why would you guys restart a new game are they recommanding?

Most games run fine with old saves. I couldn´t see anything about recommending it and you should be fine.
Personally I´m doing this, when really massive update is applied. And while this game is based on various opportunities and unknown factors, I wouldn´t be suprised if something breaks.
