All my saves are GONE

I was loading up the game to play, and all of my 30+ hours of gameplay is gone. I was about to get to the Duga with Ward when I logged off, now when I return to the game my only option is to start a new game, it's treating me like I just installed the game and am playing for the first time, please, is there any way to replenish my save data?

On the bright side, now you can start a new game when the new update drops! Somewhere mid 2025...

at the risk of telling you something obvious, have you tried exiting and starting the game again? I opened the game once and the only option was to start a new game. I exited out and opened the game again and I could continue my save.

Verify the presence of the save data in %localappdata%\stalker2 , verify in steam help settings that the save data might still be there.(there's a menu for managing steam cloud data)

OP, were they cloud saves??? Cloud saves very prone to corruption, do not use cloud saves...

For me they are located in:

C:\Users\"Your Account"\AppData\Local\Stalker2\Saved\STEAM\SaveGames\Data

Check if you have any saves in there. If they were cloud saves you may be out of luck if it has bugged out for you.

Steam Cloud saves everything, I built a whole new PC and had nearly a decade of saves still there. Make sure you haven't turned the option off.

Turn the cloud option OFF and do not be a sheep, learn how to manage your own files and you will succeed in life...

what exactly am I supposed to do with these saves??...just lost all my progress from the last 2hrs ...crashed pc(instant reboot), loaded in, last save was from yesterday (before I started playing today)...do I copy/paste one somewhere??...their 'backup' folder 'fix' clearly does nothing, it's empty...this is the 3rd time it's happened in the last 4 sessions...about to uninstall to be honest.
