Discussions are underway for a STALKER movie or series!
Keep in mind the keyword DISCUSSIONS. No confirmation (yet). If this happens, what would you like to see?

"Maksym Krippa, the enigmatic multi-millionaire owner of GSC Game World – and other entities like Natus Vincere – has admitted that the company is looking at a TV adaptation of STALKER with Netflix. In an interview with Forbes Ukraine, the entrepreneur explained that he’d ‘love to see’ STALKER appear on screen through an alternate medium."

I wouldn't mind seeing that, thought Fallout turned out good. Twisted Metal was good too.

I mean this can go both ways. Tomb Raider movies were alright thanks to the actor, plot was seconday. ;) On the other hand there's TLOU and co.

The tv series chernobyl was already outstanding. I hope they can achieve something similar on an atmospheric level.

Fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game first
That's a tough question, and so many choices to focus on between Action, Adventure, Mystery, Philosophical, Suspense, and Horror. I would like to see a show or movie still be rooted in the foundation of Stalker and A Roadside Picnic, so that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. doesn't become just another action series. But I'm also concerned that Netflix will try to downgrade it, kind of like how they dumbed down Stranger Things after the first season.

I'd imagine a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. movie to have that suspense mystery like Close Encounters of the Third Kind and the X-Files, but with more action, hopefully anyways just so we don't get some trash like the Resident Evil movies with over the top action sequence nonsense.

There's lot of potential characters at least. Brain-fried Scar might have be my favorite character in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 so far. He's so uncomfortably unhinged that it's perfect.

Well seeing how videogames have been translated to movies/tv-series its really concerning.

The only way i would see this go well is when GSC takes a lot of creative control and guard their IP.
I would like to see prime video (fallout) or HBO (the last of us) take a shot at the Stalker IP but netflix does not seem to care about putting out quality (the witcher and even worse the abomination that was the resident evil tv series)

God no. Please for all that is good in the world please NO. Stalker is not a funkpop collection with Western political ideology. I will never forgive them if they do this.

Well, theres already a STALKER movie from 1979 and its free on youtube, theres no need for a modern audiences remaster of this gem.

In the Netflix version the Wish Granter is a cis white male who's forced to admit he holds a position of privilege.

Oh yeah it's based on the book that STALKER the game is loosely based on. A lot of the mechanics in the games are from the book/movie, like the thing about throwing a bolt to make sure it's safe to walk there. In the movie they had it tied to a rope so they could pull it back.

As long as GSC stays miles away from these projects, sure, fire away!

Roadside Picnic was interesting book to read. Stalker was also a move from way back and if you can get past its very dated visual, it was good film especially if you are fan of Stalker trilogy.

A mini-series for a streaming service would be great, the Zone and the settings are ripe for an adaptation for something like Fallout.
