Needle in a Haystack, where is the artifact?

First off, I ended up killing Squint after he told me about the cave. I am down there right now, but my echo device doesn't seem to be lighting up where it is in the videos on youtube. Is this a bug?

I am not sure because I acted differently, but that particular artifact is story related because you're supposed to collect it for that specific guy. So, maybe, since you killed him, it won't spawn anymore? Because it's isn't needed anymore to complete the mission either way at that point.

If you kill Squint before taking his escape quest, the artifact won't spawn. You need to take the quest, get the artifact then go back and kill him - this you can do (nobody cares if he's dead).
