Gunfights in this are HARD
This ain't Call of Duty that's for sure. One hit and I'm bleeding and have to bandage. I find it strange the scoped AK 74 you get early on doesn't seem to be as effective from a distance, like they take more shots to go down.

use AP rounds, enemies can have head armor on, also the penetration property of the AKM sucks starting out.

Damage and penetration both does drop off at range. Going for headshots are always your best bet. Even a pistol will do for most enemies this way.

That makes sense.

AP is king in this game. Always consider AP in your gun stats first and foremost.

That's what she said about my gun in our gunfight.
Have you gotten yourself the "Weird Ball" artifact right near Zalissiya? The artifact makes you take less damage from bullets and even more if you are standing still.

Not yet, but thanks I'll look for it.

Use the cover system when you can. Peeking around corners while in scoped/aim view doesn't work great, because as you move the view around your lean changes and it's awkward. However, crouching behind cover and going to aim raises the player's body up to shoot over. then release or toggle off the scope/aim to drop behind the cover again. Works well and offers good protection.

I felt that way at first but after 60 hours things get easier. It's not just weapons and artifacts. The game just has its own play style and its not exactly difficult it just feels that way because it has its own set of rules that are different from your typical fps...once you figure it out and get into the games rythm things become much easier.

The scoped AK is also kindof garbo, it says in the description that it's barely holding together. It will degrade extremely quickly and isn't worth upgrading.

For a early game weapon, its quite good, but its just that, an early game weapon.

Thanks will try that.

Not really the game is easy if one is not bad at gaming.
Here some gameplay on Veteran, me killing 6 heavy armored guys in less then 30 sec.

Headshots are your friends and using proper guns and proper ammo. :P
Bro you're using like the most effective one shot one kill weapon that uses quite rare ammo(waste except in emergencies). M701 Super or whatever uses like the most powerful bullets so of course you'd expect deadly headshots. This doesn't apply for regular guns so much. Even guns with 3 pen bars can take like 5+ headshots on more 'advanced'/late game humans. Most people also don't have consistent frame delivery for accuracy - especially those that don't tweak their games.

One tip I can give people is to switch firing modes at a distance to semi-auto mode(1 click=1 shot) to aim at heads more easily.

120+ hours in and didn't use any AP ammo yet because it's fairly rare(also 100% on Veteran). Just using AKM(5x3.39 or something) ammo or other readily available ones(9x18, 9x19). You never know when you'll need the good stuff later on.

I found at chemical factory area and beyond the humans(at least Ward so far) ramped up in difficulty quite a bit. Basically instantly killing player while tanking 5+ headshots from regular guns.

Where's that supposed to be? I think I've visited like 90-95% of the Lesser Zone except possibly a few remote corners, yet I've found nothing outside of "ordinary" artifacts.

(VERY MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD - not really spoiler for anyone except super beginners)

I've been roaming around with Hilka detector in hand, and aside from the "normal" anomaly fields, it detects nothing around the two unique anomalies near Zalissya, those being the poppies field and the large pulsating ball over the pond that sucks you in. Am I missing something? Do I need to use a better detector?

Or are such special artifacts supposed to only spawn after reaching a certain point in the main story?
