They prob won't drop it until the dlc or multiplayer update is ready when the game is in a more stable state sadly.

I just don't understand this obsession with "give us the SDK".

The original games NEVER had a modding SDK, and yet we are led to believe that the mods for the original games ended up being amazing.

The primary limitations on mods today is: 1) If you produce a mod, that mod might very well get broken by the next update, which limits the willingness of modders to invest a lot of time in really deep mods at this time. 2) Any development takes time, and the creative process can't be shortcut with "an SDK" - creativity takes time.

They did and it was even supported with multiple patches.

What!? S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was a huge moddable game and GSC opened the license for players to create mods. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Anomaly is a combination of mods developed for the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

If the SDK is released the community has the ability to get in the game to fix issues themselves and create content like new story lines/quests. This can also help the dev's understand certain features and code that could expedite the resolution to some issues or requested features.

I didn't say that the original STALKER games weren't moddable. What I said was that they WERE moddable, and that said moddability had little to do with "an SDK".

I stand corrected on the fact that the original games apparently did have an SDK. What did the SDK let you do? Compress and decompress the game archives? That is already possible for STALKER 2.

I just don't get what "an SDK" will provide. THERE ARE ALREADY mods for STALKER 2. Why weren't those blocked by the lack of "an SDK"? Maybe "an SDK" isn't so important after all.
