After 1.0.4 update game randomly hangs and ate all memory
Am I the only "lucky" one who got this issue? Happens to me when I came to Rostok.

Tried playing for the first time. During first launch and Shader Compiling, it says it ran out of memory. But I have a 4090... Then during second launch there's a message stating that the compilation failed so I can play and it will be done later? But when I start a first game, it hangs on the loading screen. I think there's a bug in there somewhere...
I've been having stuttering, massive frame drops and seeming memory issues from the get go...i've been actively waiting for a patch to fix it, so i guess this aint it...
Well, I have 64 Gb of RAM and Nvidia 4080 Super. Before 1.0.4 and Rostok location I never encounter such issue.

Well keep playing and let's see if it shows up, if not you're lucky.

The problem is I reach the point when the game randomly freeze after 2-5 minutes of loading last save... So, I definitly not that lucky-one

Yeah last update ruined this game in stability. I have an rtx 3070 basic and prior was able to run this no problem on medium, now even on low it lags hard at 20-30 fps.

you mean 1.1.4 not 1.0.4

So, I am not the only one with the such problem. Found this thread:

Exactly my case at Rostok.

I have to may games AAA and all of them run perfectly.
The STALKER series from the primordial era has always had problems.
STALKER is STALKER ... kill all.
F5 Hot.

Sad but true. Stalker never changes. Great art and atmosphere. Poor human npc ai and balance. And, what's worse, technical problems

I had it previously. 1.1.4 has fixed the leak for me. Only 1 crash since that patch, and it wasn't a leak that time.

You can try what I did before this patch to combat the leak. If you have Nvidia, change CUDA Sysmem Fallback Policy to Prefer No Sysmem Fallback, in the Nvidia Control Panel. That seemed to keep me from having the leak in Rostok, at least for a couple hours compared to like after 20 minutes or too much vending.
Running 4090 with i9-13900K and 64Gb RAM.

Since 1.1.4 Rostok is ok but now the game falls over several times during loading/shader comp (insufficient video memory for rendering) THEN crashes 4/5 times during approx 90 minutes of playtime (when it runs).

Almost killed it for me after 150 hours plus of 'reasonably' stable performance on a pretty decent rig.

Love the title but the og jank is a bit irritating (to say the least) at present :steamfacepalm:

I still can't get my game to go over 8 gb's of system memory and/or 8 gb's of VRAM used, before or after any patches in Rostok or anywhere else in the game for that matter and I use a Ryzen 5950x and a 2080 Ti and 64 gb's of RAM.
