Guide in Yaniv missing
He was there previously, then as I progressed in the story, the guide marker is there but the actual npc is missing, so I can't fast travel away from Yaniv.

Does anyone else have this issue?

What seems to happen in Yaniv is that when the scripted event w/ Monolith is triggered, the Guide often doesn't manage to return to his location when the battle is complete.

this. after second half-playthrough and after successfully repeling the Monolith attack, he is alive and kicking. he got smoked in my previous playthrough tho...
Hmm, but if he is killed, then wouldn't the guide symbol be taken away too? And if he doesn't return to the usual spot, where would he be hiding?

I'm still having the issue post 1.1.4 too. I can use him after the monolith attack on Yaniv, but once I quick travel back he vanishes, but his icon is still on the map.

Looks like the symbol is connected to his spot and not to his body so it won't move and won't disappear even after his death.

Yep yep, yep.

He doesn't die during monolith invasion as many have incorrectly stated.

After you speak to Richter, guide is still there just fine.

However, AFTER you complete the following quests to pickup scanner etc, upon returning to the Yaniv, he's just gone.

Feb mega patch i imagine will address this.

Yaniv QUICKLY becomes useless as a travel point/upgrade hub once you open the path to Pripyat because of this -bug- It sucks.

LOL i was just joking, but yeah, after you got to Pripyat he is gone, i am sure he is still there before you go trough the gates at Yaniv, because before going trough the gates i went back with him to Rostok to pick up some weapons upgrade i missed, and than i returned to Yaniv, and went trough the gates to Pripyat, did some missions, searched for some loot/weapons, returned with the Guide in Pripyat to Yaniv, and found there was no guide at Yaniv to take me back to Pripyat...

Oh, no worries - This wasn't a knock on your post at all.

I meant in general, I've seen some REDDIT threads and folks have proposed all sorts of unverified theories.

Also, you are right. (I was wrong.) I've traveled towards Pripyat all over jupiter etc without the quest, (well ahead of schedule,) and Guide is unbugged and just fine.

Upon completing the quest to get to Pripyat and update trigger, causes him to 'poof' upon return to Yaniv.

I have the same problem. Guide disappeared while i was searching for scanner. Hope new patch will fix it.
