January update 'broke' the game.

I have just downloaded the latest update, unfortunately the game is now unplayable. I have,
on resumption of any save no control of the game. The graphics are jerky ( my graphics card is a Geforce 4080 ) and if my character is holding a weapon of any kind it will not stop firing.
I even tried starting a new game but after the cut scene at the beginning the same thing happened. Is it possible to remove the update?

Sounds like your files got damaged from the patching process, uninstall and reinstall the game, and try again.

Most game developers make sure save games are always compatible with new patches or that outdated saves are automatically fixed up and converted into an updated version compatible with the new patch.

No problem with any of the save's here, and dont think that the OP problem is the save game file, but the files in the game it self.

Maybe he had a Mod installed and wen the game patched it damadged files the mod has changed.

If you use any mod i always recomend uninstalling them, aplying the update, and than (if still needed) put the mods back.

1. major updates break saved games -> wrong
2. poster just wrote he started a new game and it's still f*cked

Just start with verifying the game files, don't start with a full uninstall/reinstall.

Hi !

First i would like to thank all the devs for all the great work they had achieve, and especially for this update ! All of you guys are GOATS !!!!!!!

The game goes far much better now, even with my beloved computotato !!!

But i noticed a strange AI bug that i never had before : i have to gather four necklaces for a nice and handsome scientist. As i was walking along the zone not far from the place called in french "Le Terril" (the mountain of nuclear garbage with a stalker base in it), i've found a group of bandits who first wanted to kill me, then starded to drop my FPS from 60 to 05 (a terrible weapon), then forgot all about me, myself and hi, and eventually, when i killed them (without any resistance) the zone suddenly became a kind of cubistic artistical experience (beautiful but not very playable).

I don't know if it is due to the last update, or if it is an old bug !

verifying files doesn't necessarily catch when a mod has modified a game file. Had this problem with sons of the forest and the red modder thing. Install mods at your own risk.

Yes, this patch damaged game, I have now very low FPS and "ray reconstruction" in settings is always automatically turning on for no reason which gives me 1/2 of my normal FPS. I think I give up with these developers, they are not able to fix their game.
