Ratkiller vs Dnipro vs Kharod?
2nd playthrough -

Picked up the 'Ratkiller' and now that I understand stats, (armor pen being so OP, more so than flat-dmg,) I think this gun is a bit more FUN than Dnipro and Kharod?

I love my Dnipro, but I put it aside temporarily and try out the Ratkiller full-time for a bit.

Max stats, it only lacks a tad bit of dmg/armor pen/range versus Dnipro.

Thoughts?

Also, is there a scope for this gun? I bought the rail upgrade but can't manage to mount anything on it.

Not a zoom (e.g. 2x or 4x) scope, but like the lil mounting target reticle attachments, (can't recall the names.)

Anything which works with Zubr-19 should work with Ratkiller. I think there is only a red dot sight.

Grabbed an Open-Sight Collimator for the Ratkiller.

I guess its, good enough, better than default iron-sight.

Reminds me a lot of S-2 Buket now, hehe.

That PP19 thingy is quite good for close range. Hell put some Penetration rounds and you're golden. I think you're stuck with the red dot collimator though for sights.

Dnipro or Khorad (Basically 5.56 version of Dnipro but still pretty good), you could use them like a DMR/AR. Keep those 2X Sights / ACOGs handy, and perhaps a shotgun underbarrel for multi-purpose use. Honestly, it's all up to you.. just keep your max weight in mind*.

+Oh and modify them for recoil/spread reduction to kingdom come.

Nice to see STALKER still respects guns as guns and they are dangerous.

Range stat is all that matters
It'll mount one of the 2x scopes. Compared to an AR it only loses out past 100m.

There is also currently an oversight/error with 9x18 AP ammo (+130% penetration vs normal being +50%) making it shred. I expect a nerf.
Holy artifacts, how could I live until today without knowing that there actually IS a unique Zubr and it's chambered in 9x18...

Should have disregarded the stealth part there and gun my way through, then search everywhere for loot as I usually do.

After a few firefights with stupid 5-8 man exo groups, Dnipro still seems more reliable and consistent in headshot stun/kills against Exo exclusive groups.

Anything else, i love the extend mag on ratkiller (65 clip,l and it mostly melts anything for cheap pistol ammo that weighs next to nothing in large quantities unlike other in-game ammo.

Ratkiller really is a S-2 buket, enhanced for endgame content, heh.

1st and 2nd playthrough, i manage to stumble across it because i always get a lil lost in that stupid 'unnamed' facility.

Both the AK ammo for dnipro and pistol ammo for ratkiller are common for the entire game.

It should be noted tho, pistol ammo weighs less than AK, so there is this benefit as well.

Grabbed and repaired a broken Khorad - Upgraded for 5.45 ammo.
I had the extended mag too.
Added grenade launcher.

Not too shabby.

Aiming/shooting/recoil is a bit more stable with Kharod versus Dnipro.

Also, Kharod in my case at least, has slightly more range at fully upgraded stats.

I WISH THE GRENADE attachment didn't force me to HOLD Tab-key and press another button! There's UI lag and often times in a fire-fight, inputs are dropped and something else is selected from Quick-tab menu.
