I'm in the Garbage zone, after leaving Lesser Zone
Can I do main quests or I have to wait new patches in order to play WELL?

I'm waiting for the next patch before proceeding beyond early main questline. I recommend holding off and exploring the open world. Then once next big update lands recommence main questing.

I've already done some main missions in Garbage, such as going for Nestor lab ecc. So, it's best to wait?

I and quite a few others have finished the game entirely a couple of times. I am waiting to play through again after they patch it, possibly patching it a couple of times more.

Yes there are bugs but reading this forum has alerted me to them and I just avoid where the bug is UNLESS it is a part of the main mission, which I haven't had happen. Like the Rostok inventory bug.
Garbage is a good location to chill around, do random quests for the bartender, and artifacts hunting (no less than 4 easily farmable spots close to Slag Heap, plus 2 more within a reasonable trip south).

In addition, you could go southeast and explore Cordon, that is another generally chill location with a few twists here and there. Less artifacts (only 2 respawning locations), but another handy village with trader, technician, guide, and nostalgia factor over 9000. No main story related interactions AFAIK.

TLDR you can play some routine runs and farm some resources even without progressing through the main story.

You know the main questline takes players to Rostok.

This is what I have been doing. Exploring the map.
There are problems with the game for sure, but have to say, I'm still having fun with it... I'm messing around in garbage too at the moment. Still plenty for me to do whilst waiting for the next patch!
I've encountered plenty of glitches and outdated design but nothing genuinely stopping me from finishing the game.

They assume the player will recognize the difference between a feature that needs to be moved forward by the main story or a genuine bug.

You already bought the game. If all you care about is the story, there is no reason to be afraid of bugs. Just save before every mission and reload if something is broken. But make a proper save and not a quicksave. Quicksaves are much more limited and get overwritten after the third or fourth quicksave I think.

I think you can follow the main quests through Garbage, Cordon, Cement Factory and Zaton without anything really buggy. Keep saves up-to-date, especially before taking on bartender side missions which start to bug out. From Swamps/SIRCAA onwards, it's maybe a bit easier to run into main quest bugs.

If you continue playing make sure to have some good save places. There are a few occasions in the game where you'll encounter game breaking bugs unless you have a good save game.

I have found that, on the two occasions that I need to meet up with Richter, both times so far the game has bugged out. Without a previous save, I would have lost my ability to continue.

Save in Garbage when you conclude the bandit mission and you see Ward helicopters coming to the base there. You'll need to meet up with Richter after a chat with The Ward.... lots of folk have this bugging out.

In conclusion, there are a couple of places in the game like this. This forum can be very helpful so shout out if you need help.
