Why wouldn't I just play Stalker Gamma?
>completely optimized
>photo-realistic graphics
>intuitive and engaging game play
>atmospheric
>progression
>actual functioning AI
>not buggy
>not broken
>no memory leak
>giga hours of content
>plenty of modding
>finished

meanwhile, Stalker 2

>completely unoptimized
>broken AI
>countless game-breaking bugs
>awful performance
>meh graphics
>memory leaks
>hardly any mod support
>unfinished

Stalker Gamma is COMPLETELY free of charge? Idk bros. What does Stalker 2 have that Gamma doesn't have? Is Stalker Gamma objectively better?

I'm no troll. I need honest and objective responses. Don't get emotional because you don't like what I have to say.

Why should you not make pointless steam tread?
If you want to play Gamma go ahead, Nothing is stoping you except yourself.

Failure to find the point doesn't make it pointless. The point is there's alternatives that are free of charge and seem to offer polished content. So why should I play Stalker 2 when these aforementioned alternatives exist?

Well I have already played Stalker Gamma, and for now it's out with the old :steamthumbsdown: (Stalker Gamma) and in with the new :steamthumbsup: (Stalker 2).

It's not alternative though. Gamma is a modpack that has very little in similar with actual Stalker games.
Why would I play Stalker 2 when NFS: Underground 2 exists?

Have to convert people, but why? If enough of you are loud enough, then at last you'll be right?

It's not? So what's fundamentally different about Stalker Gamma and Stalker 2? Elaborate, please. Everyone seems to say this, yet no one can ever specify. I disagree completely.

Also, alternative doesn't mean identical. There's differences to be sure.

You're clearly cherry-picking. Here's an example of Gamma with the graphics NOT turned down to potato.

Convert people? Absolutely not. I'm just laying out what I see here. Please, if I am wrong, elaborate. Why should I spend $60 on Stalker 2 when Gamma is free of charge? What about Stalker 2 is intuitive and ground-breaking? I am not being sarcastic.

Do what you want, but facts are facts - you're preaching here.

Gamma is built on Anomaly. Anomaly is what? Monolith Engine? 64 bit Open X-Ray. Where did that come from? The very devs you seem to despise.

Anomaly itself is utterly dependent both on the bones of STALKERS 1 through 3, and further generosity from GSC.

If you want to play a STALKER game, then do. But GAMMA isn't. It's a mod, for an addon based on previous games.

I absolutely have loved all the time I've spent in Anomaly, and pretty much figure I will again.

But I don't feel the NEED to go to ModDB and preach that everyone is wasting their time playing Gamma when they could be playing Stalker 2.

Gamma is a sandbox that focuses on survival with completely rewamped progression.

Stalker games are story driven shooters with elements of survival. Everything revolves around the story, though you can encounter sandbox-ish moments with it's AI.

Just picked random images from both games.
Your screenshot looks better, but not as good as Stalker 2. It's not photorealistic by any means.
Also, just watched footages from their website, it looks just a little bit better than original trilogy.

Like I have say, go play Gamma if you want so badly to play it, you are the only one stoping yourself.

Beside You have 23.1 Hour on Stalker 2 meaning you have clearly already spend that 60$.

It's not about which one is better. Stalker 2 is graphically pleasing, but Gamma is neck to neck with it.
