Legendary artifacts more common than rare ones

It feels like the legendary artifacts like liquid rock and compass are easier to get than just rare ones like night star and dead sponge. I've gotten liquid rock several times but I haven't seen nightstar yet.

I think I've found five legendries and just one rare so far, though I think at least one of the legendries was a fixed drop (is hypercube always the first thing found at Detention Center?). But yeah, it does seem like the drop rate is skewed.

It isn't, but indeed it's not THAT rare. I found 7 so far.

And yes, drop rates feel off, since I'm almost swimming in hypercubes, thunderberries and such while stuff like petal and devil's mushroom is rarer than unicorns.

I have the same feeling. Not sure if I even have any rare, but a lot of common, uncommon and some legendary ones (3 or 4 maybe). I never found a Devils Mushroom as well, which I would have needed for a sidequest....

I noticed once you find the legendary ones common ones becomes well.. common.

yeah it feels off and way too easy to get the legendary ones, theres a scanner on the west edge of red forest that has the devils mushroom

I'm 105 hours in, and a stalker that cannot come within 200 m of an anomaly field without going to scan it for artifacts.

I just now found my first Thunderberry.

So far, 2 Compasses, and two Hypercubes, and 4 Liquid Rocks. I do find things like Dead Sponge regularly. Common ones, like Chocolate Bar I used to find every circuit, but it's been at least 20 or 30 hours since one of those spawned.

Feels both totally random AND out of balance at the same time.

I am really surprised at how regularly I'm finding an artifact I've never seen before. Still. Just found a Harp and a Crest for the first time.

the further you are in the storyline the better the artifacts will spawn, this is what I been seeing

This happens when you progress further in the story. You get a higher percentage chance to get more rare artefacts the further along the main questline.

Yes, that's right, a legendary artifact is much easier to get than a rare one. I found 17 legendary and only 3 rare. It seems that their drops are really tied to the progress of the story.

Wow, I die too, often, I cant run. Game: u progressed far enuf and walked like a snail fo 30h, here have couple of TB. Oh, now I have too manu TB.
When in mid game repair cost is 3x higher u want to cover them with 3k artifacts? Not me.
The quest ones are usually found on dead Sralker, hidden away.

Legendary and rare are the only Artifacts that arent absolutly useless. They have to overwork them, alot.
