Nexus NVG reshade compatibility
Hello,
are the mods offered on Nexus affecting savegames?
will then the savegames be corrupted after future patches, by using only those NVG mods?

thanks

Think of a reshade as sunglasses where you can customize how you see through them, that's all they do and are not a part of the game.

Nice description, despite being reshades NVG mods get the job done until (hopefully) GSC adds it properly to the game or SDK gets released and another approach can be used, some mods also offer gas mask huds with several options you can apply.

It looks so....artefacty. Unless you a re playing on low res textures, that looks horrendous or is it just me?
I use RealStalker reshade and it looks much crispier.

Not at all, well horrendous was a bit over it I think, I am playing at 1080p all Epic DLSS quality and game looks excellent, outstanding graphics, these distortions in the screenshots are due to the effects applied on the gas mask hud, like condition of the gas mask (clean, used, dirty, weathered, damaged), glass tint, glass condensing (breathing and/or condensation), head motion, etc…
These are options you may choose to apply or not during gameplay for additional immersion.

There is currently no dynamic solution that will change the effects according to the headgear you select, the damage it suffers, player breathing rate and the environment you are at, like we had in some mods for SoC, CS, CoP and CoC, as Smurth’s Dynamic Hud ( https://imgur.com/a/gxZNKsi ) so you need to select it manually if you want.

If the player does not like gas mask, only NVG can be applied of course without any distortion, graphics will remain the same only with the crispy NVG.

Ah, my bad. I thought it was the reshade that made the game actually look much worse.
Full immersion takes dedication but without sacrificing FPS or eyesight for that matter.
If you can switch effects on the fly, it could be good.

Np, I put immersion above all but this is obviously a matter of personal preference.
Yes you can change everything in game, not only enable/disable gas mask/nvg independently using keys but customize all effects using a comprehensive reshade menu also while playing.
