so saiga 12 or ram 2
After several tests I can't decide between the two and if one is more efficient than the other.

saiga 12, Shotguns are best at close range so damage and penetration is way more important then Range and Accuracy

I chose the Ram 2 - I feel like it has better target acquisition, and target tracking. The difference in reload speed isn't a big enough drawback to say the Saiga is the better choice, for me.

Efficiency isn't really a question. How the weapon performs, and how that performance is handled by the user will determine the efficiency of the weapon.

Saiga

From what I hear. Ram hits like a truck against humans but the fact it has to reload slow against enemies that still survive an entire load of Ram shots to the face puts the "can reload fast" saiga up top.

If this was call of pripyat I'd say ram. But it isn't soooo (Which also reminds me why it drives me insane the first pump action has glacial reload speeds now. CoP rusty pump action had the fastest reload animations by a bit. Now it is trash reload speed to make unlocking the magazine upgrade for it look better...)

Ram 2 is weaker in pretty much any aspect you want to compare it. The reload is absolutely massive gap that Ram 2 would not be able to close even if it was better weapon but it is not. The one minor upside to Ram 2 is its accuracy. However, when it come to raw DPS even in short burts, not even on full mag, Saiga wipes the floor with Ram 2.

For me, the Ram 2 has a faster aim time and less recoil than the Saiga which allows the user to acquire targets faster and track them more reliably. The reload speed is not a massive gap - you shouldn't be using this weapon to engage multiple hostiles in such a way where you would need to reload outside of cover. The Ram 2 is more of a surgical weapon that is best used after you have already taken a tactical assessment, and have full control of the battlefield.

Saiga is great for engaging hostiles with assault tactics at close range - if you're rushing targets.

Like I mentioned earlier - how you use the weapon makes all the difference in how efficient it is.

Haven't found a RAM yet but I have been loving the Saiga.

Saiga is better cause of mag reload, so much faster.

Cracker. Though I had to use some Ram i picked up in the final mission and I liked it.

I admit that the RAM takes a long time to recharge, so I think I'll fall back on a Saiga. thanks for the helping hand

Shotguns are for dealing with mutants, from dogs to pseudo giants. Saiga is the best weapon, or at least good as any, for any of those encounters. Its lower accuracy does not matter when killing dogs as it is 1 and done enemy. It is best for dealing with bloodsucker because you can actually kill it in single burst of 4 shots if you compensate for recoil. It is the only way to deal with pseudo giant without going insane due to reload times--the pseudo giant is such a large target that you can absolutely go through your extended magazine in 2 burst. I will blast 12 shells into it before you get two-thirds through your magazine with Ram 2 and will reload next magazine and kill the giant before you ever get Ram 2 reloaded.

You can like the gun for subjective reasons, I liked my Decider, unique version of Fora-221, and used it for very long time until it was absolutely not viable unless using AP ammo. Dnipro is objectively better weapon. Same goes for Saiga when comparing it to Ram 2, Ram 2 looks cool but objectively it is worse gun.

Imo, there's two shotguns worth using: Boomstick and Saiga.

Saiga and then load a mag of bucks into mutants
DomEReapeR Dec 10, 2024 @ 1:48pm
In my experience the ram is better but the reload is a dealbreaker, feels way more worth it to have a slightly weaker saiga but be able to reload a full mag at a time against chimaeras/groups of Bloodsuckers.
