Enemies which still have too much HP.
As of the latest patch, the psycat and the chimera still have too much HP. The chimera in particular can take hundreds of rounds to the head, to the point that it's not even worth fighting without cheesing it. (Thankfully, if it doesn't see you, it will sometimes stand in place even when taking shots over and over).

I haven't killed a pseudogiant yet, but they were reported to have too much HP by other players. IMO, Poltergeists do not have too much HP as of the latest patch, and can be killed in 4-5 shots from a Rhino revolver.

As far as standard enemies go, my opinion is that enemies such as Monolith soldiers are too spongy when taking shots to the torso. You're basically required to get headshots if you want to take them out quickly without wasting too much ammo.

For the record, all of the above applies to the game played on Veteran difficulty.

Veteran reduces your damage to 0.75 of default so everything gets more tanky, it's such a :repoop:'ey way of upping the games difficulty imo.

I use Groks Modulat Mutants Health mod [www.nexusmods.com] to reduce mutants health to acceptable levels eg fleshes no longer take 3+ shotgun shots to the face to go down etc...

Apparently this thread is hilarious.

psycat has to much hp? on veteran it took like 9 shots with my saiga unless ur not using a shotgun all mutants are a pain^^

I fought a pseudogiant and I was able to cheese him and he took 11 frags, 3 pineapple grenades 3 underbarrel grenades (the small grey ones) and I donno how many AR bullets. That being said, I dont think most mutants have too much health, they have armor in this game so your penetration stat helps, use shotguns, 3-5 shots to kill a bloodsucker, slugs are even better. I'm constantly carrying at least 20 slugs for when I run into big mutants.

For whatever reason, the psycat seems to have a lot more HP than the psydog.

because the psi-dog can clone itself and teleport to said clones, the cat is usually solo.

IDK, I feel its overall fine, but I hate that the helmetless zombies don't die from the rifle headshots. I wish they change that. Every other helmetless human enemy in the game dies from headshots from any weapon.

Against Chimera I only use shotguns. Once it jumped me it gets a full Saiga mag to the head. (rinse & repeat) The ammo is plentyful and you can have a lot with you without wasting too much weight.

Against Uberenemies like Monolithians - I advice .308 to the head. The battle rifle (Mark I EMR / Partner for the unique variant) is really a nice weapon for that caliber with the option to go auto. It works for the Chimera as well - but I just love pumping out shotgunshells into that damnable beast. :alienprestige:

In the previous Stalker games I used a lot of assault rifles - but IMHO they don't cut it anymore in Stalker 2 :steambored: (hence shotgun upclose & .308 for medium-longrange). For weak enemies I use the APSB (leightweight, same for ammo). Haven't tried Dnipro with caliber change yet (should hit like a truck, but I haven't found a trader for 7.62 yet).

Chimera's and Psodogiant seem to be the only ones that have too much health still

Bloodsucker, Burers, Snorks, dogs, rats, etc I can take out fine

The psycat still has too much HP. To my knowledge, it takes about 8-10 buckshot rounds, which is more than the psydog.

The cat I'm thinking of uses clones just like the psydog.

i don't thinks it's the health could be the armor value is still too much on them

On stalker difficulty Chimeras / Pseudogiants takes about 30 shotgun hits with normal ammo with the Saiga, didn't tried out the better ammo because they are so rare (met 2 of each type, i think arena adds a third chimera) and most encounters can be cheesed. Don't know but that's just borderline sponge, something around 15-20 shots should be enough, it just drags out the fight.

Monoliths on stalker difficulty die quite fast with a short headshot burst (2-4 shot) from the endgame tier weapons (integral, dnipro, kharod with armor piercing ammo) so assault rifle are fine. In close quarter combat the Saiga also deals with them in 2-3 shots.

You just need to use an appropriate weapon...like something high caliber not an 9mm mp5. Buckshot isn't gonna cut it either you need to use the expansive darts at least if you're using a shotgun

Aside from the giant and chimera, everything else is just fine, usual "Get Good" scenario here. Saiga, Spas and Texas take care of most mutants just fine. I running kharod and 1-3 tapping monolith in the head, even though it feels verr random, sometimes its a 1 tap in the head, others it takes up to 3, regardless of helmet.

I play on Stalker between, finde game to hard? Lower the difficulty, if want the chalange, dont complain about enemies hp then.

I do abuse quickloading a lot in this game. If it had only an autosave system I would have given up on it long ago. The spawning of tough enemies who immediately see and attack you is a bit obnoxious... my finger goes right to the F8 key sometimes. There's signs they could fix it as I have an enjoyable experience with stealth that halfway works a portion of the time... then other times they literally spawn and attack.

That would be fine if it wasn't thousands of "dollars" to repair the armor afterwards. Getting some Far Cry 2 and Breath of the Wild vibes with the quickly damaged and broken weapons.

When enemies provide no incentive to kill them and it ends up costing you just to get into battles unless you go artifact farming afterwards to repair your gear, that gameplay mechanic is meh, could use a bit of tweaking. Provide a sidequest to eliminate bandits for 3000 dollars, but it costs 9000 to repair the gear... what's the point?
