Question about noontide and emissions

So, I just had a quick question about noontide, maybe someone can answer this for me. The scientist at wild island claims that noontide members are more vulnerable against psi-radiation and this is why they cannot turn off the antenna on the roof. We also see that they are susceptible to becoming zombies due to psi-radiation. However, on the same island, we can meet several noontide members that openly talk about walking through emissions (sometimes even voluntarily) without repercussions despite emissions being almost pure psi-energy.

Is this an oversight in the lore, or do they have some particular reason they are vulnerable to "normal" sources of psi-radiation but immune to the single largest source of it in the zone?

there is a reason for that, that you will find out in the main questline. Tip the ones that tend to be able to that will not be friendly forever towards anyone.
I.E. the ones that are able to are Fausts Guys, that still believe in the Monolith.
