Updating my nvidia drivers caused the compiling shaders to take way too long
As the title says, I updated my drivers and now the compiling shaders screen can take up to 10 minutes. It was pretty quick before I did that, and the problem persists across multiple game launches. Anyone else experiencing this?

Mine was bad since day 1, so I started using a mod called "No shader warm up". After the second update I think, I removed that mod and it takes 2 minutes or so now. I installed new nvidia drivers for this game but it ran like ♥♥♥♥ anyway. After each patch it runs a bit better, but now it crashes randomly...

Mine was fine before, usually taking a minute or less, but ever since updating my drivers yesterday it completely went to ♥♥♥♥

you have to compile shaders on the first launch (can take a long time), after that it only verifies the shaders which doesn't take as long. You installed a new driver, it needs to compile the shaders again. You can increase the shader cache in nvidia control panel (im sure AMD has a way too), which helps because if your shader cache is too small, other games shaders may take up some of that cache requiring the shaders to be compiled again.

As I said, I thought that was the case the first time so I didn't care. Every time I launch the game it takes just as long as the first time should, though.

Same here after updating.

I just updated mine today. Was a 14 minute compile when I loaded the game. After playing a short bit, saving and exiting, firing it up again was just under 2 minutes.

I'm on an old MSI gaming laptop with i-7 and RTX 2070.

So, I'm thinking there's a problem if it's taking long in subsequent launches after the initial compilation.

I sent in a report about the issue; you should do the same. They tell you how in one of the pinned forum posts.

Is it possible to delete the shader cache and get a reset somehow?
