Cause for random lag
I know this might not be a new problem but is it known what causes lag/stuttering. I can usually fix this by quick saving/ reloading/ or switching to desktop and back but sometimes I just cant get rid of it.

I dont like restarting the game because it takes about 15 minutes to compile the shaders.

I have a decent system (i990k, 32 gig of ram, rtx2080) perfectly capable of running at 2/4k but even running at 1920x1080 I still get this crazy lag issues at times. Sometimes not at all.

Any advice? Maybe the graphics card is too out of date for the game?
Thanks

Your setup is more than adequate.
The game/UE5/nvidia drivers have some issues right now.

Before the latest nvidia driver update I was experiencing what you describe. So far, after the driver update, the game has been much more stable for me.
I've seen similar reports from AMD GPU users.

Just need to wait for more updates unfortunately.
For all we know there could be some other issue specific to the 2000-series cards.
If you can be bothered, I would submit a ticket here: https://support.stalker2.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
