The core gameplay is the main issue with this game, namely that the maps are very empty, and the enemy AI and spawning system (aka "A-Life") is inferior to what was in Shadow of Chernobyl from 2007.
It seems like the developers put all their effort into graphics and creating a huge map and neglected the core gameplay.
There is zero way in hell that this game is inferior to SoC in ANY way, lmao. Trust me, I LOVE SoC - It was probably the most iconic game in my memory for a decade or more - but you're blatantly wrong. It is flawed, yes, but that can be fixed. In fact, outside of modded STALKER, it's probably as good as, or better than, the main trilogy. The only one I can't personally speak on is Clear Sky, because I don't own it and have never owned it.
I agrea, i played the SoC, CS, and CoP many times, and all 3 where bugged at the start, Clear Sky was atleast as bad as this one, and all 3 where less entertaining, after Finishing it once i didnt feel the urge to restart again, or continue playing.
I finished the game 2 times, and depending on your choises the story gets difrent missions trough out, but espeacaily closer to the end things are changed a lot.
I love the game, it has some minor bugs for me, but they do not bother me as much as not having Night Vision, Unable to Loot Mutants (they just cost you, and there is nothing to gain from killing random mutants) and Binocularswith Friend/Foe ID,
the last i now dont mind as much anymore as they gave your aiming point a much bigger range to ID a friendly so you have to be less carefull wen attacking from further way,
or wen you see a Fight (especaily with Mutants) you know if there friendlies or not,
if there friendlies i try to help, if there enemies i just leave them to the Mutans.
And it S#@ks that after finishing the game you cant go back, or there is no New Game+ where you get to start over with all your weapens and gear you collected during the previous playtrough. (atleast now they moved some stuff from after the Point of No Return to Pripyat)
