I had the issue with the door, and issue with the monolith soldiers (but that was another issue). But somehow luring mobs into the town caused the npc's to engage into combat, which then after the battle was over, they reset to their positions and things worked from there.
After I killed Uncle Lynoa, I returned to Zalyssia and talked to Gaffer again, and it let me mark the quest as completed. The church is still full of Monolith soldiers, though, and I know of no way to get rid of them unless they happen to wander out of the door. When they do, they seem to turn hostile.
Edit : monolithians shoudn't need to hide from emissions anyway. In the lore, they are fully immune to the psi-waves from emissions (the thing that actually kills you in an emission by frying your brain).
i went to the village but nothing there
everything destroyed and random audio of gunfire but no enemy or NPC anywhere
2. Lead them to Zalissya while keeping the aggro.
3. Next event will trigger and monolithians will spawn properly out of the building in Zalissya, and you can advance the mission.
Seems to work consistently for me (tested and it worked 3 times out of 3)
when everything got all messed up with the doors not opening and no monoliths to shoot at, I backtracked to a save from when i had just finished the missions at the sphere, and there was still a squad near the entrance that was alive. I aggroed them and managed to kite at least one of them into the town. Killing him in town caused the doors to unlock, but i still had the default dialog of the people in there.
Initiating default dialog seemed to meet some mission prereq even if they didn't say anything new.
Just kinda f-ing around town and trying to leave eventually caused a proper monolith fight to break out outside the building all the npcs were in for me. Finishing the fight and coming back in seemed to finally fix the dialog issue and they were giving proper missions now.
After doing the missions for the medic, getting the bartender's gun, bribing hamster's bodyguard, clearing out the monolith scouts, and taking care of the Uncle out of town, everything was kinda working, although some of the NPCs now had duplicates and a few monoliths were still in the building.
Trying to leave town again after all this caused a red condition GP37 to magically appear in my hands (causing my current gun to get booted to inventory) and gave me another mission to return to the town to defend vs monolithians, which had now spawned properly and were attacking in force.
After this was over, some more important npcs had duplicates, but all the monoliths inside were gone.
I haven't been back yet to see if the duplicate problem cleared itself up.
what do you mean by the Sphere?>
I had a look at Zalissya and there about 20 enemy troops in the church, all you can hear is footsteps
theres no way to kill em, and already had the radio call for help
this is the pass version so it seems that regardless of platform, Steam GOG or Pass its very broken
damn thats a key mission to move forward in the game, damn bug
yes the dead vendour and dead monolith is the old house where you had your bed and save stash, the same house, I did stroll in there looking for the bed and save stash but the bed is broken and stash missing, everything inside the building is broken, game script I bet, my last save is me standing on the roof of the church trying to figure a way in but its been impossible so far
