Boss fight crashes EVERY TIME [spoilers]
I've dropped all settings to the lowest possible level and am running the newest patch from today (and current GPU drivers, too). Every time I destroy the Psi Emitter on Faust's belt, the entire game crashes during the teleportation video.

I've searched all the Faust-related threads here and haven't seen this issue, tho there are dozens of mentions of framerate drops and problems with Faust's corpse. Has anyone else run into this repeated crash? I'm wondering if it was introduced by the new patch - this is a game-breaking bug that I can't imagine wouldn't get plenty of attention.

Using mods?

No, but I was using a custom Engine config - deleted that, *then* lowered everything to the lowest settings, got another crash, tried again and made it through. But in another hours of gameplay since then, I ran into 3 more crashes...vs. maybe 5 crashes *total* in my previous 100 hours of play. Something seems to have changed since the patch.

try highest
Delete Shader Cache's trough you Graphics Controll Panel and Windows Disk Clean by Selecting DirectX Shader Cache.

Probably a silly question, but have you verified the integrity of your game files?

There is always a chance the saves get screwed up when using mods and or in other ways manipulate the game files.....

Any solutions so far? I've tried everything and always crash right at the end of the teleport sequence. Removed mods, verified game files, reverted to an older save, cleared shader cache. Extremely frustrating as I was having a smooth-ish experience up until this point and now I can't play beyond this point.

If you have used mods it doesnt help to remove them. The save is already corrupted.
A new clean start would probably solve the issue.
Try rolling back the GPU Drivers if your on Nvidia, might be smart to use DDU.

Uninstalling the Game AND Clearing out this folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Stalker2\Saved exept for the Steam Save Backups (unless your 100% sure your Cloud Saves are o.k.)
That should get rid of anything related to the previous install, and you have to go trough the games setup again after ReInstalling as it wil be all set to default.
Highly recomended wen you Upgraded your GPU.
I have the same issue, but I’m playing on an Xbox Series S. I replayed the game after wiping my console and tried everything possible, but it still crashes after Faust teleports to the tower.

Hey, just got it to work. So last night I tried changing graphic settings to medium, changed resolution to 1920x1080. Still crashing at the exact same point. One thing I forgot, though, was that I recently added a modded engine.ini file to the game's config files.

So I delete the engine.ini file this morning, booted up the game, beat Faust (again) and the game progressed normally after that without any issues. Now, I don't know if that actually was the fix. Maybe clearing the shader cache and changing settings followed with a full reboot did the trick. Hope this helps some of you that are facing the same issue.

Dopio Brando, sorry brother, that really sucks. Hope GSC can fix this issue for all of us ASAP.

hmm, weird, i would expect it to crash during teleporting (wich is basicly nothing else than a loading screen) and be fine after that.
