Is better to avoid every night ingame by sleeping?
I heard as at night are usually spawned harder mutants.

Some of the hardest mutants like Bloodsuckers, Chimeras, Pseudogiants, and Controllers can all be seen roaming around during the day.

from memory, there where many reasons for ending up in the middle of nowhere and night falling.. not having a head mountable flashlight was a rip move. maybe anomaly and vanilla trilogy blurs together. Not having any sleeping option nearby being just one of many reasons, food, drink another

Old-school STALKER had a day/night cycle, but I don't recall (unmodded) STALKER really changing spawns for different time-of-day, nor do I recall (unmodded) STALKER really making enemies unable to see you in darkness (where you having nightvision would give you a big advantage).

These are clearly areas where this new version could up the immersion significantly, but "we don't know yet" if and to what extent that has happened.

So enemies mostly react on you better from distance during night than during day? Sounds realistic. And what about silent approach? If you at night going slow, were enemies than was turned on other side reacted on spring but not on slow walk or silent? Im not sure if trilogy even had slower movement than walking?

at night turn off your flashlight and aim at the other lights

In Shadow of Chernobyl there was a mission to steal some military documents. If you went in there during the day, you would end up in a nasty gunfight, but if you sneaked in during night, you would be able to complete the mission without alerting anyone.

And yes, crouch walking/sneaking was present in the original.

I want to emphasize, I was talking about OLD SCHOOL STALKER, not this new version. "We don't know" about this new version.

Old School STALKER was a fantastic game. But the first installment, STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, is a game from 2007, more than 17 years ago. So let's stay properly calibrated about the level of expectations for games of that era.

IIRC that mission was primarily different because during the night period, many of the guards on patrol would instead be sleeping in the barracks, giving you much more ability to find an opening in patrols to sneak thru. My recollection was that it was less about the NPC's having limited vision at night, and more about the NPC's simply not standing in or patrolling the route that you needed to traverse.

I do recall (correctly?) that when you attempted to spawn into the map thru a particularly useful underground path, you needed to trigger that map-switch with no weapon in-hand, not even a knife, or the sound of you equipping your weapon would play immediately when the map loaded, alerting nearby enemies.

How was called that mission? Anyway from another perspective. Does any mutants even sleeping? During night or day? Can you see em sleeping?
