We don't know, but the devs say they've been looking at what the community has done over the years. Anomaly / GAMMA / Escape from Pripyat are essentially free-roam sandboxes with endless repeatable missions. Despite the lack of well-written stories, they are very popular. I'm sure GSC has taken note, and freeplay after finishing the game's main quests(s) is something that a lot of people ask for.

Personally I'm surprised that game developers haven't yet started using AI to generate more varied quests and missions. Main storylines should always be hand-crafted, I think, but surely AI is the next logical step for "Radiant AI" type quests?

ai can generate a ton of storys but they still need to be implimented just think about what you can do in a fps on quest go there get the item, go there kill some dudes, go there kill some things, go there and report on the situation is just another form of go there and kill that thats the problem with sidequests even in gamma/anomaly the random quests are just fetch or kill quests.

The first Stalker game was a bit like this but the devs definitely moved away from it with Call of Pripyat. Personally I'm not a fan of those as they inevitably end up being fetch quests and if you find something valuable you can simply sell it to a trader without needing a quest for it. There were repeatable quest in CoP though like Beard's artifact deliveries and the ones from Shadow of Chornobyl were also picked from a small pool iirc.

I hope we don't get any repeatable, generic quests during the main campaign playthrough. As a completionist, I much prefer being able to have a finite list of quests to work through. Plus I loved the design of the hand-crafted secondary missions in Call of Pripyat.

Repeatable quests, in my opinion, should be reserved for freeplay after finishing the campaign.

I'm sure that if GSC has implemented "Radiant"-type repeatable missions in STALKER 2, they're optional and you don't have to accept them, and that such missions are just a source of income if you fail to manage your resources properly.
