Ahhh.... another arcade mechanic. Bad game design. Smart players always have issues with the arcade mechanics. We got to learn to deal with the lack of logic and embrace the arcade. Just sad we now have to do it in a Stalker game that we had hoped would set a new standard. I don't blame the devs, just the industry that forced them into mediocrity.
It was reported that thy can bug out........ what can you do. The game is not there yet.
There are two that I know of in this game.
Bulletkill is the sniper that one shots you, and its damage is 100 with ignore armor on (and an amplify effect to it, so more).
The second is radblock, which is the effect that kills you when exploring radiation areas. This one at least gives you a warning with the sudden massive spike in radiation, and you can back away in time. If you ignore it, you will start taking a lot of damage. The radblock one kicks in if you move slightly farther into that radiation zone. It does 9000 damage, and also ignores armor.
I don't believe using cheats to get passed will work, since the damage is designed to outright kill you (i tried a god mode function to see if it could block the bullet, but nope).
I did make a mod (named - yes i can enter here) that I posted on nexus, which changes the damage to 1, however that is more for exploring areas you are not supposed to be in. I have already beaten the game, so I just want to explore everything :)
edit: I did encounter it as a bug on a mission, where if you are on one side of the road you are fine, but if you go to the other side (3 ft away) you die. It is very fickle.
I had to reload so many saves prior, just to beat the game. One time I had to go back 3 hours just to fix a permanent status effect. You can play the game, it will just take some irritation (destroys the point of play huh). I had to install the ue tools mod just to get past a bugged main quest (bunker door would not open, on all my saves, so I had to use noclip on the door).
I'm at The Road to the Foundation quest.
I manage to kill all the supposed monolith raiders, got the completion of that objective and all... but the 1shot kill npc is there...
The game saved wile i was with agro (I think from him).. I think its because hes like a special npc...
What can I do? Will load an old save fix this? Is there a way around?
ps: I managed to take a good look at him and hes with a green military suit, not monolith exoskeleton... after some more tryes and failing to kill him I saw is name, I think its Lyric...
Btw when I shot him he reacts do the damage, so I think he takes damage... has anyone manage to kill a npc like this? Or is he immortal and I've been wasting my time? (ps: i managed to empty 2 armor piercing magazines (60 bullets) and some Rhino shots, did't die... I realy think hes immortal.)
Is there a way to kill an npc (like this one) with UETools or something like it?
(just noticed i wrote alot,,, sorry for that..)
