Spoiled canned food
In Rostok near the "100 Bar" I found a dead stalker with a spoiled canned food in his pockets. It was marked as a quest item, until I looted it (now it's not). Anyone knows if there are any quests related to the item? Im pretty far in a game, so I assume it's some kind of quest that is not available for me anymore, but still curious

Got it as well, eating it did nothing more than a chip of damage
does it bring to you more enemies? i was in rostok and the base was attacked by snorks. maybe they sense that smell?

In case anyone here is still looking for an answer on this - from what I’ve seen it does not relate back to a quest (don’t hold me to that - I am not sure). But what it does in fact do is make Fleshes friendly with you. If you run into a group of them in the Zone with the can in your inventory they will slowly come over to you and kneel/lay down in front of you. To which if you move, they will follow again and plop down again if you stop. They will however still be attacked by almost everyone/will attack them. If you run far enough away (since they slow walk to you when near) they will stop following you and go about their merry way.

Take my points! Found only a single of this smelly cans in 200+ hours and thought it was a glitch and would kill my savegame if I keep it. So I loaded an older savegame from before picking the can up and made a big detour around it. :)

Now I know I made the right choice shooting the "trapped" bastard before he got away. Just left that piece of rot sit in his inventory after that but always wondered what that was all about. Fun fact: his body will never despawn as long as he has the item on him.
