Yes, before of the point of no return. That was also the case in Stalker Shoc and CS
gamma is a good mod. But after the atmosphere of the second stalker, I no longer want to play scale. It will be interesting to look at the range of the 2nd stalker. S2 is so atmospheric that there is no need to make any more graphic mods. (unless you can add seasons. Winter, for example) You need to make mods for additional content. And of course, after completing it, you need to do it so that you can continue playing and not start over.
You can also use mods/console command to leave the NPP and return to the large open map, but do note that most quests will be failed/broken by that point, so no reason to do it (aside from keeping your loot from the NPP, like the unique boss weapons)
Strangely enough, there is an elevator next to the last room in the game that your character takes for a cutscene, but you can't use it yourself to leave the Red Fortress. So the best loot in the game (like the endless gauss rifle) cannot be brought out.
