Crossing the water is a pain

So I'm in the later half of the game and there's a LOT of back and forth backtracking and it is getting older than Biden. It'd be nice if there were more spots where I can cross the water and not need to backtrack all the time. It's actually discouraging exploration a bit because I just tried a new way, west of the cordon area near where the game starts, and there was a wall blocking my entire path. Well, my goal marker is not terribly far from there so I want to go that way but alas, there is no way to get around the wall and the nearest path to cross the water is aways a way.

Please give Skiffy-pookie some floaties or maybe marshier coast lines.. and more ways to cross the water.
