Repair costs are WAY too high
I have fully upgraded armor and most of the guns I use are fully or mostly upgraded, and that means my armor has several upgrades that reduce wear, and yet still it costs me almost all of the money I make selling loot just to repair my ♥♥♥♥. I feel like I'm living in poverty here. How am I supposed to buy more upgrades or supplies or anything really when I am barely covering the costs of repairing my stuff after battles? Again, this is WITH my armor having wear reduction upgrades maxed out, before that I hardly even broke even.

They need to reduce repair costs or give us alternative ways to repair our stuff because I can barely make any money right now.

Frankly, take less damage. Make artefact runs instead of killing and looting humans. Run from fights more often. If something is well-guarded, think if its worth fighting over.

Its not that hard to upkeep after they lowered the costs. But it is extremely hard if you pick poor battles or fight badly.

Check cheeki breeki's latest video on which mod you should put for economy balance till you wait for a patch.

Hard to when you can shoot a bandit in the head with a rifle and they do not die in a single shot despite only having a jacket and mask. Or when enemy bandits can hit you as if they have aimbot and never miss, even hitting you consistently when you are barely peeking out from cover, or correctly land their nades next to you every single time.

Anomaly did this too with repair costs, but in return also gave you the option to fix armor and weapons by yourself using materials

Stalker 2 however had a brain fart and forgot, I suggest installing a mod that reduces repair costs by at least -50%

doesnt help that u also only get like 15% of the price of the item it says before u go to a trader

how often are you repairing? If you keep up on it after every mission it should be cheaper, don't let anything drop below about 80% at any time

its when items get into the yellow or red is when it gets more expensive

I really don't think I'm playing badly or stupidly, I don't pick every fight and there are plenty of battles I DO try ot run from, but most of the time I find that I can't outrun my enemies and it's better just to fight them, especially mutants.

I always take cover and try to flank enemies and avoid getting hit, I'm not just walking into every anomaly I see or everything.

I think I play pretty carefully and smart, but I still get really high repair costs.

After doing some of the longer missions in the game, I really think that the game needs a mechanic where you can dismantle things and get parts for repairs based on the durability of what was dismantled, and have that + or - other parts to allow you to do field repairs. There are missions where you will not see a tech for 3-4 hours or more. Stalker 2 is not the same game as the OG trilogy; missions are longer and there are more weapons to encounter with their own upgrades and draining all the cash into upkeep takes away from experimenting.

I'm playing on console lol, it's on Game Pass so I get it with my sub, can't use mods, I just like using Steam for any game I want to have discussions about.

for real, I have had many times where bandits can hit me from like 60 meters away in pitch blackness through dense vegetation and I can't even see them at all

I remember Fallout New vegas had a perk upgrade that does that where you could repair based on what you find

honestly that's an amazing idea I would love that, it would be much better than just having to drop ever red durability weapon I find.
