Wish Granter Thread

I'll start:

I wish STALKER 2 was released without forced ray tracing...

Nothing, cause the whole point of the thing was that it doesn't grant wishes it fries your brain lol.

Considering I'm running this on a 5700XT at over 40FPS on medium settings, and am physically incapable of doing any level of raytracing at that framerate, I sincerely doubt your wish is even appropriate.

the game version? i'd stay the hell away, seeing all the brainwashed and zombified people protecting it with their lives is a good indication wish granter would just ruin my mind as well.

the movie version?
there's no way to know if it actually grants wishes, it could be all superstition. but if it does actually work i'd wish for the death of all tyrants (hopefull putin, xi, kim, khamenai and maduro would be among them

It does, but that's not necessarily best for you.

See for instance the tale in the movie about Porcupine reaching the Room, wanting to wish for his brother to be brought back from the dead, only for the Room to make him insanely rich instead because that's what his true wish was ? He then went on to hang himself two weeks later due to guilt.

Also, remember the Stalker's speech about the impossibility to use the Room in a controlled/selfish fashion, because no one can be certain of what they really wish.

Sure, but one of the protagonist is carrying a 20kt bomb to destroy the room, meaning that people with access to such weaponry are concerned enough about the Room being rral to warrant its destruction using tactical nuclear weapons. This ain't something that is done on a suspicion basis.
Granted, we never *see* the room granting a wish in the movie, but that's more of an aesthetical choice than a statement about the Room itself. One of the main topic of the story is faith, in the Room itself and in the true nature of the wish one comes with in said Room.

The Wish Granter is a monkeys' paw. So yeah, you can wish for a game to be released without forced ray tracing, but the wish will be twisted into forcing the game to run in 1080i with only bloom available!

I wish this game wasn't made by this hack developers. I wish the 'Heart of Chornobyl' (The NCPP) was actually a location in game you could visit. I wish it wasn't a dogwater xbox game lazily ported to PC. I wish it had Alife and I wish the developers didn't lie about it only to see the 'fans' eat it up and make excuses for them. I wish it didn't have pre-order or multiple teirs of purchase (deluxe etc). I wish it launched with MP deathmatch it is a FPS afterall. I wish it ran well on mid-range rigs build in 2023. I wish it wasn't on gamepass. I wish the fans would hold the developers accountable to ANY sort of standard. I wish tourist timmys would go away forever and keep their opinions to themselves. I wish gaming wasn't mass media entertainment for the unwashed masses and still a niche hobby that appeals to english-speaking white people in 1st world countries like it did in 2000. I wish it was "overwhelmingly negative" on steam until the developers fixed it and included basic features from the original games. I wish people had standards (again).
