1.03 update completely broke my game
before the update it was completely fine, after the update the game will launch to a black screen for 10-15 minutes then the title screen will appear with weird text that is not intended obviously. the game will load shaders unbearable slow, then lastly it will fail to even start a save or let me play. it just freezes if i get that far. please update the game again.

Verify files, remove mods, and load a save without messing with any video and graphical settings.

If it doesnt work, theres not much else we can tell you, UE5 is notorius for getting Access Violation crashes etc etc, but theres more going on in this game than that.
tried this as well removed mods folder and verified nothing changed.

It has nothing to do with mods. Stop suggesting things like that. If you check your task manager you’ll see that game uses 99% of your available PC memory, that’s why you see black screen for so long.

Have you tried changing your socks?

Usually it’s underwear change that helps.

this is wrong though, my game wouldn't boot properly after the update until I removed a mod, once I let the game boot once without the mod, I was able to put the mod back.

try deleting the config (or all folders) folder in c:\users\yourname\appdata\local\stalker2\saved\ EXCEPT the steam folder, the steam folder contains your saves. You'll have to redo your graphics and controls but this has worked for some people.

i just deleted those files and launched, same problem happened. i checked my task manager and my memory starts to spike insanely and maxes out in like 30 seconds after clicking the start button. the game just starts EATING up my ram the moment is run it, also i have like 48 gb of memory so i know its not a hardware problem.

Exactly. Waiting for 1.0.4 patch… hope they make more fixes than bugs with this one.

Always some gamers with 50 mods.......

Had you tried clearing Direct X cache and f off with mods before updating? Cause you know, injecting some 3rd party trash would make the installer lose its sh1t while trying to update legit files. And now "verify" cant detect a f up.

if you have any mods that have their own localization files, they break the game with this update. i just did a trial and error process and figured out any mods that have localization files will break the game. it breaks the text strings giving you gibberish like sid_hint_idle or the like. it'll also make the game freeze when you try to load a save game and gives you the overly long shader comp and black screen during it. my guess is the update changed the localization files and any mods that alter that and haven't been updated break the game.

Uninstalled, deleted folders, reinstalled. No mods.

Constantly getting CTD with below error when trying to trade with Owl:
"Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000060"

Have raised a ticket but I hope 1.04 patch is coming soon.
