I've gotten 2 Hypercubes from that first fire cave in the lesser zone. Magnetic Cave? You can definitely get the better artifacts early game with statistics on your side.
I got it from under the collapsed train bridge next to the Garbage base.
I don't know about the compass. But 2 thunderberry > 1 thunderberry. Tested. There are some caps for sure though. Carry weight is 140. But no one has done extensive testing on all artifacts to see what the caps are. As for if you really need "4", assuming it puts you at the cap, in terms of difficulty of the game (on veteran) in my opinion it's not necessary but so is 0 too. Some people will progress the main quest, do a few side quests equip whatever they find and that's how they want to play. I enjoy hunting down unique guns, attachments, blueprints, rare artifacts, etc.
Just tested 2 vs 3 vs 4 thunderberry. There doesn't seem to be any difference between 2 and 3. So, it's possible the cap for the same type of artifact is 2. The difference was in the energy regeneration speed. Standing still doesn't affect regen. But walking will, putting 2 above 1.
I think there is a misunderstanding here, I am not hunting for the weird bolt, I am hunting for the weird nut, which you are "suppose" to only get from the fire whirly anomaly. hehe.
Sounds like I am gonna like thunderberry more and more, if only I can get my grubby hands on one. LOL
From Ribs anomaly in Lesser Zone.
Ahh, alright, thanks for the info.
But I probably will try other areas. Maybe claw.
But I did find another gravity anomaly site and its quite close to slagheap, might give that a few tries. hehe
Its possible I suppose, but I am those "trial and error" type of guys. So gonna go with my stubborn nature, give it a few tries, then move on.
On side note, gotten my hands on a Dnipro and slap a silencer on it and a sniper scope, that think nails stalkers like flies. LOL
Can confirm that I re-acquired compass at the nuclear waste dump near Rookie Village. So it DOES spawn there.
Rookie village, hmm, Need to look it up on where it is. But thanks for the info. Might check it out if the current anomaly I plan to visit also have low compass chances.
The village is in south-west in back of the map and there's a military base (hostile obv) near it. It's also in the original position it was in the original trilogy.
original trilogy. LOL. Those games I played so many years ago that I don't remember a single thing about them. LOL.
But yea, I'll try and look it up later. lol
