wow imgine a exso suit and not being able to run and have to walk every where. now i can
people just love the heavy slow encumber state and having to slow walk back to base to sell the hord of guns they picked up now you can do it all the time with the high tech exso suit brought to you by people who don't know how they work.
be as light as you want you only have one speed, SNAIL!

it gives +8kg to carry wight
funny that so does my armour and its got better stats in all but a little less in physical but you know what i can actually do more then walk in it
seva-1 suit

Just upgrade the thing, sprint option is a upgrade module.

Only for some exo-suits, but yes, only switch to exo-suit if you're able and prepared to get the sprint upgrade.

In the original games, I always avoided using the Exo, until I could obtain the Sprint upgrade.

Sounds the same in this new title (thus I don't see the issue).

Cool.

I think the Exosuit only gives +35kg carry weight which is nothing. There are real life exosuits that can carry 3x as that much. For instance Sarcos Guardian XO. Game tries too hard to be more realistic than IRL.

Fair enough, I've only gotten the diamond exo as my first and only exo and upgraded it as soon as I could so didn't know that some can't, hopefully it's not the one OP is referring to.

Games are not RL - the graphics would be better then.

Exactly this.

Is there any particular reason though for the exosuit to be nerfed in this manner?

Basically, the game is trying to be so hardcore that it is now 'more' hardcore than the real-life thing it is imitating.

And that is silly.

Since carry weight is such a limited and yet valuable commodity in this game, attaching a significant carry weight bonus to an endgame item like the exosuites would actually make sense, and provide incentive to track down good exosuites.

Diamond exoskeleton can get sprint upgrade. I am always running in mine. With endurance artifacts you can run kilometers in a few minutes

i am far to broke to upgrade to see if it gets sprint it as also pointless at the moment as my armour is almost maxed out and far better and has a lot of psi protection nothing more frustrating then having people spawn right behind me and shoot me in the back over and over. and no there is not always a controller around fyi.
they drop fast with the good old ram shotgun

Later exosuits give you up to +16kg and additional weight reduction upgrades for the armor - that's a lot to work with. More so when combined with artifacts. You have to combine that with packing light and only take what you really need. Loot only what you can sell for a profit. (so no bottles, food, ammo) Occasionally you might also do several trips between the "mission area" / temporary stashes and your personal box / the trader. Given the economy I loot most of the weapons in all conditions and transport them to my personal stash. Then sell them in Rostok (my main hub - as there is also a trader who buys "red" weapons).

It's basically the game balance - without the carry weight limit you would get super rich in no time. With the proper preparation you can later carry your shotgun (you always should have a shotgun with you ^^), an assault rifle or sniper rifle as well as your pistol / revolver. Maybe even a SMG (Buket!). When going all in (lengthy main missions) you can even bring the big gun (RPM-74 - preferably "The Glutton") which weighs around 17kg (fully loaded with one belt, which means 500 rounds for the unique one). As in those missions it's about survival (and fun), not about picking loot.

i have looked at the upgrades and none say they allow running or any movement changes.
its the cuirass exoskeleton. nothing but disappointment
ImHelping Dec 4, 2024 @ 7:49am
The player exo suit no sprint by default nonsense is mostly a way to ensure all the enemies able to still sprint in their exo-suits look cooler than you longer. Same as it ever was.

Anyone telling you it is realistic or "You just want things handed to you" is lying to you. If they cared they would remind you of the benefits like highest default psy resistances if you are trying to save money in certain ways you still gain instead of whining "Ugh, progression? In MY game!? Why isn't everything as terrible as a soiled leather jacket forever!?""

(Wasn't there one exo suit in this that tries to trick you with "Wow! less expensive!" but has no built in psi resist and less artifacts?)

The Cuirass exosuit is exactly that one exosuit that doesn't allow this modification. Before reaching Prypiat (cheesing early entry is possible) your better option are SEVA (psi protection) or Bulat (physical protection).

i have 3 different suits now and 2 that cannot have it. lol

i did find one that a normal exo suit and it will work when i get a tec who can do it
Porkhammer Dec 7, 2024 @ 5:02am
I did add the sprint upgrade to my exosuit, but it doesn't let me sprint anyway. So I sold it.
