Ammo Caliber 7.62x39
I want change dnipro caliber to 7.62x39, its increase dmg alot but i cant find any vendor in game who sell 7.62x39... Its bug or what? You can loot that type of ammo caliber but its very rare, im in Pripyat right now and vendor sell every type of ammo, except this one.

7.62 is a sniper cartridge, it is very rare, I do not recommend installing this upgrade on your dnipro
I'm having the same issue, I've just fast traveled to all the vendors and I can't find 7.62x39 for the glutton LMG

7.62x39 is not a sniper round. It's an AK round.

7.62x54R is a rifle cartridge which is now classified as a sniper round. 7.62x39mm which is DIFFERENT than the former, the default and original AK round, is what he was referring to........
"Survival" games which are based on scarcity will struggle when too many variations of a consumable are present. In this case, too many different ammunition types, all of which have some degree of scarcity, is a perfect formula for several of them to simply not be present in high enough concentrations to be practical to use.

I actually like that they have different calibers. I hate games were there is just "assault rifle ammo" or "pistol ammo". The devs stayed true to the guns using their actual calibers. With the Glutton/beast RMP-74 LMG's. They are PKM's in real life and fire the 7.62x54R. Don't know why they went with 7.62x39 for those.

What are you talking about? The RPK is a real life gun. Just try typing it in your address bar and see what comes up. The RPK-47 was chambered in 7.62x39, the RPK-74 was chambered in 5.45x39. The years correspond to the change of cartridges for their standard service weapon. That's the biggest inaccuracy, having it be a 74 instead of 47.
The reason for it not being full size both in game and in real life is pretty simple: Weight. Most nations use a intermediate cartridge weapon for their squad automatic weapon because the amount of ammo that can be carried at the same weight is substantially higher, which is important when its meant to be a suppression weapon- firing so much that it forces the enemy to stay down.
They also have a "Full size" cartridge automatic typically used in things like emplacements, vehicles or for short distance trips.
I have two fully upgraded Dnipro ARs, standard 5.45x39mm caliber one for fooling around and 7.62x39mm version for big fights and end-game missions.

I have also not found any vendor that sells the ammo repeatedly. I even tried to buy several ammo types and sleep for inventory refresh with no luck.

I have collected approximately 2700 rounds of this type but I played and scavenged a lot. There is no way to sustain your ammo needs if you are using it as primary weapon. Best way to farm the ammo is to either farm Ward soldiers near Chemical plant, try Duga before it changes as part of main mission or Pripyat. Pripyat is, however, not great as most enemies will use end-game weapons such as ARs or shotguns but very few RPKs/PKMs.

The gun in game is NOT an RPK, take your own advice and google it then click images.. what is in the game is the PKM, the same LMG as in all previous STALKER games and is indeed ONLY chambered in 7.62x54r, which it was also chambered in previous games. It doesn't make much sense for it to be chambered in 7.62x39 in STALKER 2, if they wanted a 7.62x39 beltfed MG they could've used the RPD
Simple solution, use a gun wherein there is ample ammo everywhere. I was collecting every gun and ammo to go with and I thought, to what end. Can't display them like Fallout and if I need it, it's probably in storage.
Don't worry about changing the ammo for the Dnipro.

It already has good penetration characteristics and the Soviet 5.45mm ammo is very common, possesses its own penetrative characteristics and is LIGHTER in weight = can carry more ammo! :104:

Go for a 4x (acog) scope over a 2x scope and you'll have it easier getting headshots :)
Set the firing to single shot for more control. The 4x acog sight allows for breath holding.
I saw there mod for that. In this Stalker world somehow every AK are running with 5.45 and LMG are running 7.62x39 literally default AK rounds instead of sniper SVD rounds. I think I dont see anyone selling that but LMG literally slow to draw when u switch gun and do the damage of AK. It not really worth it. I feel like game heavily fav SMG more especially end game one
unless they enable that cut content gun AK drum mag with long barrel for LMG role

Either use the glitch bug or farm ward soldiers at chemical plant duga location.

I finally came across a guy that had it and I followed him till he finally was dropped by some snorks ^^. have around 600 rounds for it already but they wont last long.
