bring back old fast travel systems
I forget if it was clearsky or pripyat that had it but you could goto the squad leader of a friendly group of stalkers and they would offer to either bring you to their destination or to their base.

the current open map leaves me walking for literal hours, i dont super mind it as the maps are beautiful and usually there is something to stop and explore between destinations but it would be nice to cut out some of it particularly when running guns back to sell with a full inventory.

I believe this would offer another benefit to the game.
It will give more reason for players to support and defend allied groups and enegage in social aspects of the game instead of letting them die naturally (to bandits, mutants, wildlife, etc) to loot their bodies for stash coordinates, guns, ammo, and recovery items. you could make it a requirement to be on good terms with that groups faction promoting further engagement with social aspects and missions to improve relations.

It also was really nice having access to regular anomaly zones without having to walk forever to get to one just to find out there is no artifact in it. this lead to a smoother overall economy as you werent forced to selll artifacts consistently and not have to worry about choosing between using an artifact or selling it to be able to fix your vital gear.

in terms of going back to base because stalker 2 is such a large map each group would bring you to the closest base for that area.
Example: any group in cordon would bring you to the rookie village even if you are physically closer to quiet's shop

overall benefits-
1-cut down on dead travel time
2- increase engagement of player with random groups
3- more access to artifacts which is, imo, one of the most rewarding parts of the game's loot
