Guns Randomly Changing
Noticed today whilst playing that a couple of times my slot 4 gun would be swapped out for a broken pump action shotgun when I had the Mark I EMR there. So I dropped the gun and then about 5 min later whilst walking back to the base it did it again so I dropped it and walked away backwards looking at it as if it were possessed.

Then about half an hour later it happened again, the shotgun is not in my inventory so it must be stalking me!

Anyone else have random stuff like this happen to them lately?

It's a bug. It seems to happen near zombies.

Yep, just found myself with two broken SVDMs, one in my hand, one in the inventory. Dropped them, 20 meters later got a shotgun in my hand. And so on...

Exactly. I always thought i accidently pushed a wrong button and somehow pick up and swapped my weapons... but NAH... TWO shotguns kept popping up in my inventory, broken ones... It was strange. :D So yeah, it happens.

Yes the second time it happened some zombies spawned near me and later on this arvo they literally dropped on top of me and my entire inventory went nuts, two broken guns in my slots one in hand and didn't have time to be able to swap out so it was a load saved game.

The first time it happened there was nobody around but there were a few dead bandit types on the ground.

Its an interesting bug and it just goes to show how complex making a game on this scale is. What could be the reason for items spawning into the players inventory when zombies spawn.

My guess would be some kind of a code that puts those weapons into zombies in a regio but it somehow cannot recognize the player is not a zombie so it gives us one or two as well. :D

This is now actually getting a little frustrating

I run one main firearm and a secondary with little ammo trying to stay true but it seems even w/o zombies (Z's shouldn't be in ANY GAME, they're just filthy scum) but for some reason you do a click on inventory whilst running and there's two maybe three broken un-asked for nor wanted guns weighing you down like you should have to constantly have check your inventory. This is a major bug!.. or at least drop clean fully working piece into my inventory whilst I chug those bottles of water not knowing that I've picked up some tics along my travels in the form of broken weapons!

My game switches weapons when I start sprinting from main to secondary and vice versa.

I can make up a completely made-up explanation, that sounds plausible: The script is trying to weaponize the zombies. The script makes a function call to resolve the object ID of a zombie. That attempt to resolve the object ID fails (for some reason), and the function that does the resolution to object ID is designed to return null to signal that the resolution failed. The script does not check the return value for null, and instead makes a call to a different function to place items in the inventory of the object, passing in the null for the object ID. The function that adds items to the inventory of an object is designed so that null for the object ID means "the main character".

Seems to happen near psi-enemies and zombies for me. Luckily it has never gotten rid of my existing weapons, it just puts them into my inventory. I chalked it up to an effect of the Controller's mind control abilities haha.

its a zombi, psi radiation effect bug. You will randomly be given weapons.

The Zone is a weird place full of weird people hunting for weird stuff while killing weird monsters and experiencing weird phenomena- generally in abundance. ;)

At least with any luck some of the "mystery" weapons will spawn with ammo in, so you can unload them, dump the scrap iron, and use/sell the "free" rounds

I've literally have the gun switch out of my hand, MID COMBAT. And i died because of it. Massive Bug, needs to be fixed asap.

LOL yeah, I am happy to hear I am not the only one. I will suddenly be wielding a SVDM :D Bit of a moment of panic :D

Seems to keep giving me broken SVDMs or Shotguns
