Lever at waste processing station underground

I found a lever in a room where we fight with controller, but cant find any info about what it doing. I tried not turning it on, but it doesn't change anything.

Room with it marked with red pointer (blue point to monolith stash and exit from underground). Also, I'm surprised no one noticed it, since there is not a single topic dedicated to this lever. All videos with walkthrough just ignore this room (players even don’t see it).

Oh yeah, I saw that too today, I honestly don't know what it does, maybe I do? I don't remember if I pressed it because it's not relevant to the quest, but It may opens a metal gate for random loot / stash that is there somewhere in the rooms, not sure though, it can be misseable.
