Memory leak fix soon ?
The memory leak genuinely makes the game unplayable, I dont want to restart my game every 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes.

if with outdated gpu you don't need framegen, i don't use it with my 1080TI
and that one belong in a museum, but i play it nicly without framegen or anything fancy on hige/epic in 5120 x 1440 without issue
Im sorry to tell you bratan, but the 1080TI is outdated...
Mistake Not ... Dec 1, 2024 @ 3:03pm
I am on a 4080 super, no OC, no OC on CPU either. Using the 'high' preset without any frame generation or upscaling. Collect 10 guns (even if they are broken) and go to a tech. Scroll the weapon list in the tech menu (upgrading / repair) up and down using mousewheel. I can 100% reproduce this. No need to wait 20 min. Every time I check task manager and see 99% memory usage before the game eventually closes itself.

1440p is constantly using 8-9gb of Vram always. If you have 8gb 4060 then its on your end.

I have 12gb and it constantly sits in between 8 and 9 @ 1440p high/epic.

Even Hardware Unboxed has declared the game unplayable on any 8gb card at 1440p and 4k. 1080p should be playable.

Actually this time round I'm not sure its a hardware issue, somethings different after that tiny 450kb patch. 70 odd hours w/o an issue and now it feels laggy

as stated it belongs in a museum but it works quiet will, i see a lot of people with issue in modern game on new hardware and here i sit on a museum item and it works well with a pretty decent fps :p i find it hillarius

Yeah, the issue with these things is that computer performance is a fickle mistress.

had that before, turned off frame generation, and never had it again. Also people keep referring to it as "memory leak" while I haven't seen any evidence of that.

And since PC reboot was actually affecting it heavily I think it's more memory fragmentation problem then a "leak". As a leak would go away with process termination. Which it doesn't. It deteriorates through the sessions.

I don't get it, why people say to disable FG? I have an i5 and a 3060 12gb vram, I played to hours to no end and never had a crash.

My GPU usage is to 60% or 70%.

I never really looked into my PC usage while gaming, but this game is making me paranoid, my CPU reaches 99% and 80% most of the times.

I have good temps tho, I have noctua fans.

Why people say FG is bad and causes memory leaks?

My RAM usage with DLSS and FG is 16-17gb, if I disable DLSS and FG i get a damn 26gb of RAM usage. Why? Still not getting an answer anywhere.

My rig is not the best, but DLSS and FG is what makes the game enjoyable and smooth for me, I can play with FG off, but, the reason is because people everywhere have been saying that FG "will break your GPU" how, is this game really capable of breaking your GPU? What do people mean when they say that? Thank you

I dont know the reason but FG does something to the gpu vram thats just my guess you have 12 gb on ur 3060 so i think you can play longer with fg i got 3060ti 8gb if i put fg im getting that memory leak or w/e it is and without fg i can play for hours with no problem but fg make the game smoother for me. Also i found out that performance on dlss will give you more time to play with fg on as i think it will take more power from the cpu insted of the gpu but still im not sure. What i do know for a fact is that its 100% the FG that make this problem for most people.

It doesnt seem to actually get "Worse", its appearance follows a trend, all things considered.

As i understood after a couple of days of research is that FG uses anywhere between
10-30% of your GPU power and 1-2 GB of VRAM. When you force FG on a already maxed out GPU, is gonna cripple your game. i believe having 60-70% GPU usage and having 12GB of vram is the defining factor on why you can run the game with no issues at all.

(I am no expert, is just a bunch of research i did in the past few days so i can play the game smoothly on my rig)

You will lose fps but fix the memory leak... you need to turn off frame generation which has been a problem for many games: Ghost of Tsushima, Stalker 2, and I am pretty sure for many others as well.

It’s easy to say 8gb isn’t enough but that’s not the truth. The issue isn’t that 8gb VRAM isn’t enough on a 1440p monitor, it is, just not going to be getting 90FPS. There is some kind of PDA & menu glitch when talking to traders that causes frames to tank to the single digits and require restart. Or if you turn of Frame-Gen it’ll go away but so will your benefit of getting those extra 15-20frames (when it isn’t bugging out). If you rapidly open the PDA and then close it you will see it happen. Increasingly the odds go up as you play longer. So it is not hardware side, it’s frame-gen memory leak somewhere game-side, especially with certain hardware. imo…

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II has EXACTLY the same issue as STALKER 2 regarding the stuttering with frame generation.

Maybe when its first DLC hits the stores, it will have a complete overhaul of the game, much like Cyberpunk had with Phantom Liberty release.
