Fall Damage is Horrific
Plain and simple. For a realistic game, fall damage is tuned way too high. I shouldn't be dying from a fall of 10 feet consistently.

you dont....

Go back to those falls its typically around 20+ ft.

Durp..

The 10ft falls you claim are literally fence height which you never die from.

Now, that said.. if you're carrying LOADS OF GEAR.. good bye knees IRL.

It makes sense.

Depending on how high up you are. I've crouch jumped from certain heights with no damage. And no, I'm not talking 20 foot drop. I've tried it on the scaffolds at the garbage and have been successful, and at other locations throughout the map. Try it out🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. Remember, your character isn't a "Superhero ", especially when fully loaded with gear. Good hunting S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Ayepp. I'm doing self-restrained "iron man" runs myself (ie I restart on death), and I just discovered fall damage after playing for a few hours. A controlled fall from a regular roof shouldn't kill a young healthy person like that. At worst it should break your bones.

Lol most of my 120 deaths are from falls trying to get somewhere. Using bounce anomaly and missing. Splat. Reload.

Check if the game is realistic. Equip backpack with 80 kg of loot. And jump from 4 meters

With like 60Kgs you probably would. Unless you are an incredible specimen of a human being:)

I'm not arguing about the fall damage though. Maybe it is too much for a game. But in real life, 10 feet with a big load on the back could go horrendously wrong.

Who many stalker are in a wheelchair? A broken bone will be a death sentence in the zone.
Seem fitting for you to kick the bucket.

Most people die from falls from 10 ft or less. But that does include elderly. For younger people, all depends how you land. On your head or hitting your head is an issue. But with 60 to 100kg of gear, yeah that is bad. But you would think and exoskeleton could make it less, but it's the same damage as no armor

Of all the issues with this game that could be addressed, I wouldn't rank fall damage up there very high.

Yeah just save before any jump or anomaly hop

If you heal fast enough you won't die.

only way to change fall dmg is with a mod, realistically, fall dmg should be variable, depending on how much load your carrying.
