Extreme Simplicity - Allied with both factions?

Once you speak to Strider and Scar, they are attacked by the Ward. They ask you defend them as their soldiers fight off the Ward assault. I showed the PDA to everyone, which means I'm allied with the Ward, but I gave the early game item to Richter which means I'm also allied to the Stalkers / Scar. Which means the Ward don't even attack me during this mission, but I'm not following the Wards quest line, but rather the stalker one.

I feel there is possibly some game logic broken here. Or, maybe it's intentional? As it currently sits I just walked away letting the fight happen. I'm hoping it doesn't cause bugs down the line xD

I like the idea that I can "play both sides" but im sure there is a choice at some point that will tie me in one direction or another

Also sounds like you can just walk out going "not my problem"

Only because you gave the Item to Richter and not the Ward doesn't mean the Ward wants to kill you, they are logical after all :P

And no worries, there won't be any Bugs because of that :)

Richter is on nobody's side but yours, but the Zone comes first, Richter is real one

Any updates? Did staying out of the fight have any repercussions aside from missing the rewards?

From what I've seen, no. It's the stuff after this that seems to have the biggest impact later on.
