Game is unplayable!

Hello everybody! Big Stalker fan here. Bought the Collectors Edition.

Like the gameplay, graphics and atmosphere. But I have a really hard time with the game's performance.

Played so far ~20h.

The game runs ok some of the time 60-90FPS 4k Hight/Epic DLSS Quality+FG(~1h-1.5h) but then suddenly the fps foes to 7-14FPS and stays like that. I restart and everything is ok.
The FPS also tanks when starting conversations with NPC's. Everything is sluggish. So annoying.
Then I get UE crashes: "An Unreal process has crashed".
Now I get Errors "cound not start ... Create Proces() returned 2" and "Disk Errors".

Q: How to get the game to stop tanking the FPS? How do In solve the above errors?

getting the same from my brand new alienware baller ass rig. its the game not us. just refunded my bundle package until they show me they want this game to work for their fans. fingers crossed.

you guys could try to use exclusive fullscreen... this could change something with this issue

I think it may be from a recent patch. I never had a slowdown or drop in fps for my first run (before first patch). Beat it and everything. On this run after patch, I just now had my first full system lockup, where the fps kept dropping, until it outright froze at about 6 fps. Couldn't alt tab, couldn't ctrl alt delete, could not do windows+D command. Only holding the power button to force cpu to turn off would get out of it.

Guess they really did break what was already broken. :P

Specs are ryzen 9 12 core, 4070 super, win 10, m.2 drive, 32gb ram.

edit: I was doing what I did in my first run. Going to each town to unlock fast travel locations. On this playthrough, I crashed at rostok location, right at the stash/bed.

you can also try to use ISLC (https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1256).
with this tool you can let clean your ram automatically on the fly. just set the free memory is lower setting to 1/4th or 1/8th of your system ram (depends on your max ram; with 64gb max, 8gb is a good value). then just press start in ISLC, let it run in the background and then start the game. this can prevent memory leaks

Mee too i have FPS drop after 1.0.1 patch, restarting the game fixes it and it comes back after a while

I will try this with DLSS Quality without any FG.

Are you sure you aren't overheating and getting throttled? If you haven't dusted your pc in years, might be why

I checked Start as administrator box on "steam.exe" and "stalker2.exe".
I put stalker2.exe as exception in anti-virus program.

Stalker2-Win64-Shipping is .exe file that is starting.Just for the info.I dont know solution for your problem

The game was running fine after Fridays update with constant fps but now I'm back to square once since yesterday. I keep having fps drops and the game crash non stop...

for me it stopped with the patch from yesterday.

I had memory acculation error, or something like that.

I dont know if it works for you but it stopped doing this after I turned off DLSS and FG. I play on TAA and medium (some high) settings. Mine dropped to 5fps but only in very specific places, like near same guy etc. Also that Hair option seems to be problematic, set it to low.

Ey my hero. DLSS is the issue for me. I can even play on DLAA and all settings, except textures on mid and hair on low, on ultra. Not leaking anymore. Playing with solit 60fps.

Oh well, nvm, just had the same issue again. But, it runs a lot longer without drops.

RTX 4080 + Ryzen 5900x + 32 GB DDR4.

Anyhow the game is running ok now. No crash in the last 6 days just a bug in a sidequest. In the begging was running awful. So no need to get agitated.
