Frame Gen input lag
Anyone found a fix to reduce the input lag from Frame Gen ?

you need to lower your frame times (increase fps). if your frame times arent low enough for FG, it can cause a higher latency.

Very common problem, not exclusive to the game though. It is fake frames after all.

There is no fix but to maintain at least 60 fps before enabling it. The lower your FPS the higher the latency.

Nvidia control panel

Custom profile: Stalker 2
Set Max Framerate: 65

You'll never need to worry about generating excessive frames causing input lag, framegen won't generate more than its allowed to.

the input lag (high latency) isnt caused by "too much fps" but of to high frame times (too low fps) so cutting the max fps will do nothing...
he has to lower his graphic settings to increase the native fps so that is enough time for FG to create the frames smoothly in time. 40-50fps can be enough already, depends on the system.

Hi, a user on YT told me to set all graphic options to “medium” and activate the FG.
It really worked for me.
I have a 4060ti

Lower the settings so that you get higher initial framerate, that's all you can do.

Adding r.oneframethreadlag=0 in your gameusersettings.ini under [SystemSettings] can help but it will reduce your framerate a little

DLSS + Nvidia FG user here (RTX 4080). Try the following:

1. Enable Nvidia Reflex in the graphics settings
2. Uncap framerate (don't use any framecaps / limiters)
3. Don't use ReShade, or other game filters
4. Use one of the top performance optimization mods

If you are on RTX 4000, you can use Nvidia FG only (FSR FG doesn't work, even if enabled)...but if you're on RTX 2000/3000, you can only use FSR FG...which is not as good, as native nvidia.

Limiting the framerate with tools like Afterburner / RTSS, while using FG, can cause additional input latency. Didn't feel good to me.

The next mistake I made, was using ReShade. Usually it's great, but here in combination with FG, it intruduced significant input latency. Felt terrible. No matter if toggled on/off - you have to completely remove all ReShade files from your game...if installed.

Check nexusmods for most endorsed mods and try the top performance optimization mod(s)...worked pretty well for me and got rid of mouse smoothing, and all that stuff. You can use mod files, or just paste textline commands into your gameusersettings.ini (steam version). Both can help, but use only one.

PS: if your native framerate is too low, it'll feel sluggish anyway...no matter if your FG framerate looks okay. Your base framerate has to be solid, so that FG can build on it.

Thanks. I'm using a controller. The input lag is massive. It's like my char is on rollerskates lol.
