Yep I have observed that, for sure. They will glow blue (just like when they make a bunch of clones at once), right before doing so.
That brief window right before teleporting, is also a brief (just for 1 sec) moment when they aren't moving and your sure its the right one. Good time to put a high powered revolver round into them.
Luckily for me I had recently grabbed Glutton from its location not far, so I just hosed down everything, clones, dogs, any random stalker that may have walked into the rooms at that moment, until I noticed no more doggies and just annoying shocks.
I then proceeded thru the labryinth of finding multiple keys, to get thru several doors, just to get to that damn poltergiest, who I then emptied 14 extra shotguns shells into it post mortum cause it pissed me off that much.
I actually like how varied the gimmicks of each mutant is in this game. even the cat is much more terrifiying given how quick it can cause Psy damage and hallucinations.
Man some of those cat ambushes are freaky as hell. Its the voice mimicking.
The 2 that were just plain freaky to me are as follows:
Was near a shoreline and saw a helicopter. Heard a voice call out for help from inside, and as I approach out pops kitty cat. That wasn't so bad, I expected something. But afterword, there was a recording of the victim in the helicopter's last words, including the line mimicked by the bayun.
The other, was the one time they were a legitimate threat. 1 on 1, they can be creepy, but when there are 3 of them, they are actually solid teamwork wise. Anyway, was approaching a tree and an artifact at the top of a hill, and see 3 dead bodies. Suddenly the sleepiness hits and I hear voices. See the one and shoot, only to hear a voice behind me. Thus starts a cycle of cat A throws human voice, while B attacks from other direction, always one trying to distract while another attacks. Was quite annoying and the one time they cost me the most health so far.
Game 100% has A-life, however it is bugged currently. Nothing you just described is related to that though. Blood Suckers can go invisible at will. and Pseudo Dogs, have a "tell" that indicates which one is the real one as other have said.
In summary: Get Gud.
Yeah anything associated with Phy powers is creepy in this game and one of the few consumables that are actually rare is Pys-block lol. It took me a while to understand that controllers will cause fake enemies to spawn and when you kill them they will fade away, show you were hallucinating the entire time.
I have so many stories of creepy/fun mutant encounters and my favorite is the Burer, for the simple fact that they can yoink your guns right out of your hands and blast you with them if you are not on point.
Once they improve/fix the a-life system this game will be even better.
Right now it's just not fun we don't need too many mutants that need to be avoided.
If the devs listened to everything that is said in these forums STALKER 2 would be COD where everything dies in one hit, everything is easy to kill. Like can we juts not have hard/challenging enemies in games anymore?
they are fine the way they are, and they are a fun challenge to overcome and learn how to deal with. The solution to a problem for modern gamers is always "nerf this" or "nerf that"
