Thank god its over
Terrible game with a nonexistent story, glad to finally finish this overly extended ass game. I'll play it again when MP comes and I hope to god that the first expansion truly aims to improve every aspect of the base game. Plz aim to deliver more than a long af slog fest with a f load of walking back and forth with nothing in-between.

Also I got the Borderlands 3 ending.

If you're just gonna rush the main quest and complete it in 65 hours, I'm sure it can be pretty boring.

This was never the highlight of the series.

I'm 40 hours in, and currently on Wild Island for the story mission. I'm taking my time, exploring everything and enjoying it a great deal.

Had you spent time playing the other three STALKER titles, you'd knew what gamplay was to be expected.

There's a lot to criticize about the game, from technical issues to A-life being braindead at the moment, but stating that the devs should part with what is essentially the same game structure as the original trilogy is weird. STALKER games have always evolved around going back and forth between points of interest within the map(s).

Similarly, STALKER MP has always been a meme and no one played it seriously.

No ♥♥♥♥ you have no taste

Glad to see another person take my account 100% serious, and using that instead of actually trying to make a point.

I played a little of one of the Stalker games and don't remember it being this garbage but idk maybe I go back and check. I can't see the other games being remotely this bad, also since their old af they get a pass for a ton of shortcomings of the time (this doesn't).

Having to backtrack all over the maps was, by all accounts, a much more present mechanic in the previous games, notably the first one.
I see that you played roughly 4 hours of Call of Prypiat, meaning that you definitely didn't reach the part where you have to backtrack from the last map to the first one to complete a single story quest. Similarly, since you have not played SoC, you didn't have to deal with the multiple smaller maps that you have to go through for most missions (e.g you can take a "kill X in the Cordon" quest at the Bar map, meaning that you need to go to the Garbage map, only to cross to the Cordon map, do the stuff you're asked to do, cross the Cordon again, cross the Garbage again, reach the Bar to then get paid. Total mission time: 30mn. Total walk time, probably 25m.

since their old af they get a pass for a ton of shortcomings of the time (this doesn't).

Except this isn't a shortcoming. Having to push through the world is a design feature. This is why there's no fast travel available and why guides are expensive and only present at certain key locations. STALKER is a franchise where the journey matters more than the actual quest you're doing, because the Zone you're evolving in is the main selling point and the thing to look for. This is why people are happy to play hundred of pointless fetch quests in Gamma or Anomaly: the topic of the quest actually doesn't matter, it's what you will do on the way and what/who you will encounter that does.

RUSHED?!?!?!

Tf, I wish this was rushed, ten years of walking up, down, left, and right is what the majority of the game is. Also if you like looking at boring ass generic interiors then good on ya, must like paint drying as well at that point cuz that's what majority of the game was.

The people defending this ♥♥♥♥ are the same people who defending garbage ass Dying Light 2. OMG guys the devs said there's 100 hours of content, then you play it and there's not. The only reason the number gets that high is cuz there's a 100 hours of bloat and time wasting.

It's pretty boring now that mutants are easier to kill than human enemies.

This is a walking sim. What did you expect. The map is bigger. So it does feel like you are traveling farther. But the older games you really had to walk/run a lot.

Wow, angry... Yeah, you rushed it, barely completed any side stuff, let alone explored the entire Zone. If I rushed Skyrim's main quest for instance, I'd say the same thing.

Although, I wouldn't be angry like you.

And if the game is so bad, why would you even play it for that long? Did someone had a knife under your throat?

Clearly, the game wasn't for you then. There's a reason why the original trilogy stayed niche. Criticizing STALKER for its pacing is like criticizing Dark Souls III because it's too hard, or DOOM Eternal because it's too fast. It's just a game design choice. And, in STALKER 2's case, it is justified given that it's basically what the original games did as well.

The people defending this ♥♥♥♥ are the same people who defending garbage ass Dying Light 2.

I didn't even buy DL2 because I was disappointed with the reviews. Thing is, DL2 sucked because ot dropped most of the mechanics and design elements that made DL great. On the other hand, you're criticizing STALKER 2 for design choices that are in line with what OG players expected. Hence the good rating for the game despite the technical issues.

Again, that just means the game isn't for you.
I barely reached the swaps after 40 hours and I wasn't bored a single second.

Old Stalker might be what your describing but this is literally not old Stalker. There is no journey of discovery or whatnot this is literally a story focused game with a pointlessly massive open world. When I say pointless, I mean pointless, idk what tf game you guys are playing were theres this highly detailed and deep game but this isnt it.

This is the type of game were you walk ten million miles, randomly get attacked by a mutant then walk away and end up getting attacked by a random group of dudes and then keep walking. Thats the entire gameplay loop, also steal a bunch of garbage and become fat af so then you slowly walk to a personal stash to then loot more garbage.

This is why this game is not for you. You are so focused on getting to the end that you miss everything in the middle. Its about the journey not the end. You missed the atmosphere, the characters, how people are trying to survive in the zone, everything.
