stashing loot noob question
can i stash overflow in empty lootable containers in the world? im way too heavy and far away from a safe zone so i figure i could find an empty box or backpack and put stuff in it... come back when im done and get it? or does the loot disappear

It should work. Didn't test it though.

Not super sure if stuff in random containers disappears but to be safe I'd grab only the most valuable stuff, pop a hercules and run to a trader every now and then, and then come back and resume exploring.

I *BELIEVE* all containers have permanence.

I have never left loot in a container long enough to find out...
I HAVE temporarily left loot in a container (or body) till I finished exploring the PoI.

But if I am moving to a new location I never leave any loot in any containers...

Yes, you can leave one empty item in a stash and it will stay visible on the world map so you can keep track of an intermediate stash for stuff you'll want to lug back to sell later. This is very useful in maps that are super far from traders like Swamp or Chemical

Im stashing shiz in other stashes, its been 15 real life hours of game play, the loot i stashed is still there.

You can always pop some excess stuff in a container and then drop a custom waypoint (tab on keyboard in map) on it to keep track of it

Though I think the latest patch broke that cause I can't access the waypoints anymore

Yes, I keep some extra stuff in the stash I encounter in the map, since some area U don't have any dwellers HQ. It's very practical. game is on point!!

You can stash your loot in any container.
But don't do it in any mission areas as you may not be able to return to them later.
